That looks more like Future Dill. That’s just the effect that Alice has on people.

“In 2012, Thompson took time away from the strip in order to receive treatment for Parkinson’s disease. During the hiatus several other cartoonists stepped in to draw the Cul de Sac characters. The guest artists were Michael Jantze (The Norm), Corey Pandolph (The Elderberries), Lincoln Peirce (Big Nate), Stephan Pastis (Pearls Before Swine), Ruben Bolling (Tom the Dancing Bug) and children’s author Mo Willems.”

Is Petey now a Teletubby?

It was nice of the artists to fill in but of course, it is not the same! Plus it was established in previous comics that Alice can’t count past 3, so for her to write “$400 please” is pretty much out of character.

Is Alice implying that Petey is in a proto-Goth phase? I find it hard to imagine Petey growing up Goth. Or maybe Beatnik?

Based on this and tomorrow’s, I wouldn’t mind the Otterloops finding continued life under Mister Jantze. I miss them…
