    since I turned 12.. if I" wanted" anything.. I had to earn my own money to get it… outside of the house.

    bicycle, better clothes. pop, candy bar..

    My Dad always gave me the money to buy stuff, based on what he thought the price should be.

    Example, Dickies blue jeans cost $2.00. Levi’s were $4.50.

    I got $2.00, if I wanted to upgrade to Levi’s I had to come up with the other S2.50.

    That was the way it was, until I got a full time Job, then everything was on me, except meals eaten at my house or sleeping accommodations!

    They don’t have a schedule any more: no passenger and hop-a-freight may take you anywhere, or sit on a siding until they can make a consist.
