I might have written something about the potential return of Posie to the strip awhile back – vague memories of doing so – but I’ll never be able to find that comment without assistance.
To all the early birds here and those late, a great good morning to all of you. This is a different kind of poker game. And one doesn’t have to be “psychic” or “Lunarian” to win.
By the way, Mike mentioned some months ago that he would be putting Posie into the story since several readers had requested some kind of update on whatever had happened to him and were wondering what Posie would think of the whole situation. I guess we are slowly learning the answer to those questions.
I suppose that the “poker night again” implies that Posie has been gambling with his new-found income on more than one day. That’s the way I read it, anyway.
Vic isn’t too bright. Posey, on the other hand, has his own agenda, though I doubt he has any telepathic powers. His inevitable face-to-face with Mysta should be interesting.
Happy Veterans Day (U.S.) and Remembrance Day (Canada) and whoever else takes this takes this day to remember our debt to all those who have served our countries and kept us safe. Let us hope for more peace and less war going forward.
After the way he burst in and bragged about the money, I doubt Vic has a good poker face. Posie probably picked up on some obvious tells that Vic was bluffing, and Posie seems like a tough cookie who’d have no problem calling a bluff, especially with four of a kind.
Vic’s first mistake was playing five card draw. Nobody plays that anymore. In fact it’s getting harder to find places that offer seven card stud. These days it’s all Texas Hold’em with maybe a little Omaha thrown in for variety. His second big mistake was playing in a home game situation against someone he didn’t know. At least at a casino the dealers are neutrals.

The implication here is – of course – That Posie Has Psychic Powers.

I’m getting the feeling Posie isn’t who we think he is.

Vic thought he was slick
With loot that wasn’t his
The euphoria he was feeling
Suddenly began to fizz
Late at night when the game was tight
And winning was just a dream
It wasn’t cool to be the fool
But that was certainly how it seemed
Time to go and get more dough
From that conceited excuse for a man
A secret kept was an expensive bet
To be replenished with bread in his hand.
I Also want to say, from the bottom of my heart,
ZZZZZZZZzzzzzx….

Hah~!! I’d bookmarked Neil’s search engine~!!
.
Seems I’d commented on a potential return for Posie more than once ..
.
Here’s one …
.
As the forum’s resident “Soap Guru” – For what that’s worth …
Substitute “Glenna Ermine” for Tad Martin and “Mysta” for Ted Orsini, and you’re half-way towards a viable Posie Ermine story!

Think I’d made a few additional posts about Posie, but wasn’t able to find them in their entirety on their respective pages.

Bluffing or not, you won’t fold when you have four of a kind.

Today we learn that Posie Ermine is a better poker player than Vic.
But the symbolic overtones are far more ominous….
