In my opinion, the “over” band are still more talented than current bands.

First, you have to be worth bringing back…

It means never having to create another song. Fans mainly want to hear the stuff they’ve heard before, but hear it played LIVE. Once you have enough memorable songs, you can live off them for the rest of your life. Look at The Beach Boys.

Though as one of The Beach Boys said at a relatively recent appearance, remember to score the songs with a sixty-year-old’s vocal range in mind. Some of their songs are hard on them now.

Now kids, our parents said the same thing about our beloved bands when we were young. (My parents hated Pink Floyd and the Who and Genesis). Apparently this band IS good, at least in Alex and Toggle’s eyes, so they very likely could be an “Is” band.

@pouncingtiger…….I totally agree. Even when the singers [Daltrey, Jagger, etc.] have lost their range, they’re still better than the current stuff. Fortunately, guitarists are forever. The Who are still the greatest!

The Who have been irrelevant since Keith Moon died.

@3hourtour — what you said! Clear Channel is the primary reason radio stinks in my area.

How many bands, singers, etc. had the talent but not the breaks? Being good and working hard doesn’t always mean success in the music world or the real world.

John Paul Jones was a larger part of Led Zeppelin’s success than most people realize. I think his forte is arranging.

Gweedo…It was ‘Sliders’, a show on the then Sci Fi (now Sy Fy) network. Another classic band that tours with one original member is the Beach Boys.

You have to be a successful rock band before you become a noteworthy classic rock band. They are only in it for the money.

~+~ Jimmy Page ~+~ Pink Floyd ~+~ recognizable SOUNDS that are indestructable.

    Comfort food for the brain.

Lordy, I must be old. I’ve never heard of most of the people you have mentioned today. Johnny Cash and Sir Paul are names I’ve heard but none of the others. And have not listened to even theirs.

These guys may have a shot at “Idol”, now that Simon has called it quits.

Otherwise, they could try “America’s Got Talent”.
