A little simplistic I think. It was not just that his car stalled. Why would anyone, in that area, when their car stalled drive it to the center of the road? Reports have it that several, at least two, callers to emergency dispatch expressed the thought that the man was “high on something.”I do not in any way agree with the shooting, I am saddened by the charges but I think they are just. We all know she will be tried and acquitted though. I do not agree with the shooting but he wasn’t simply stalled in the road as the cartoon suggests.Shame on Mike.
How about we take a step back and say that if you actually do what the police say. Don’t walk away. Comply with their requests. Regardless of race..It is sad that we have so many killed by police. However the totality of the picture needs to be viewed. Not just the one side that you want to view it through..That being said, it will be interesting to see this guy’s tox screen, if it is true that they found PCP (who even does that crap any more?)

Supposedly then you can’t reach through a closed window, or produce your papers (please) as ordered or alleged, and they may then kill you if you register sufficiently high on the van Lauchen scale of human skin color (0 alibino, to 32 with anything in double digits qualifying).
He should not worry about the cops. All he has to do is to answer what the cop asks, do what he tells him to do and not turn his back and walk away, or reach for the back seat.
If AAA gets there first he’ll get a tow to the garage. If the cops get there first he’ll get a ride to the morgue. The police have shot a much higher percentage of unarmed black men. He is right to be afraid, Driving While Black is still an executable offence in this country.
If you’re white, you can wave the gun around and even take a few shots, and they all turn into Mr. Sensitive, the Negotiator. They used to make an exception for long hair, but now half the Klan has ponytails.
Anyone stop to think that poorly trained police, and the fact our streets, and even rural areas, are now inundated in guns, thanks NRA, might have something to do with it? Especially that police training has really changed on what’s an acceptable shooting. On a TV program, they demonstrated that a woman reporter playing cop was justified in shooting a guy with his hand still in his pocket, MAYBE with a knife!! That ain’t what I was taught, either by Federal or California LE training years ago.
As Tom Enghlhhart wrote in his book, we are “The United States of FEAR”, and that’s dangerous indeed!!
Did u ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe, cops could back away? .maybe the guy was was loony toon. If the cops are bad shots, they shouldn’t allowed to carry guns. Why wasn’t that poor schmuck shot in the leg, fer chrissakes?
If you are with a person who without planning, decides to rob the store you are both in, and that results in a death, you are charged with murder. If you are a cop, and another cop with you murders someone, that same law should apply. If that were in practice, there might be fewer deaths.
Remember everyone, it seems highly probable that certain members of police forces have been behaving this way (and worse) for a very long time. But how would anyone ever be able to quantify that fact? It’s only been a few years since the advent of potable video recording has been ubiquitous. So, this is the first time most white people have ever taken notice of this. Of course blacks have always been aware of the way they have been treated by the police. How could they not? So this really is a case of social change being driven by technology. Of course, the Obama haters cannot see beyond their preconceived notions, but he has been sober and restrained about this issue. And it’s an issue he knows well.
