What will be the address be? You can’t just say “Nearest Netflix Shipping Facility”.

Decades ago, when Robert Ripley was still writing “Believe It or Not” for the newspaper comics pages, he had a contest in which readers were tasked to mail him a letter with the most creative address. Of course, to be eligible to win, a reader’s entry had to actually reach Ripley. Dozens of letters with no address at all made it to him. Even more reached him that were addressed with a small torn spot on the envelope… “rip” ya know. The fact that the U. S. post offices rapidly became aware of the contest helped these essentially unaddressed missives to their destination. One letter had a single human hair taped to the envelope with, it was claimed, the comic strip syndicate’s address written on it in microscopic script. I don’t recall which was the winner. I did see the “hair letter” at the Ripley museum in Florida.

I hate it when Rat has a point. (I think Goat said that about something he did, a few years ago.)

I have often fantasized about flipping envelopes and sending back discs to a different postal facility than the one that the disc came from.

You can address it any way you like. Doesn’t mean it will get delivered, let alone delivered to your hoped-for recipient.

The Name of the Addressee is not as important as the address itself.

It would be interesting if it worked, but he reached the nearest menopausal woman.

when Netflix first came out I did the DVD mailing thing, but one time I dropped it right in the post office big blue box and they said they never got it and charged me for the movie. I complained and they refunded but I cancelled and have never gone back. I can’t help it that I dropped it in the box and they didn’t get it.

Rat is ever-hopeful, but address or not, no hot woman is likely to waste her time with him….

The USPS has seen darn near everything when it comes to addresses. They’ll figure it out, believe me. They may screw up Aunt Sophie’s get well card going 2 towns away, but something as outlandish as what Mr Ripley did, and just about anything you try will be a piece of cake to them. Oh, that ‘Neither snow, nor rain..bit that is supposed to be their motto? It’s not. It’s just engraved on the main facility on 8th Ave in NYC. If it snows bad enough, you aren’t getting your TV Guide that day. Those LLV trucks aren’t 4 wheel drive and get stuck just like everybody else.
