What is Wally holding in panel 3? It looks like there are a number of casualties that didn’t survive. Will there be a returning elevator to pick up the survivors?
In panel 3, he’s looking at that medallion that he wears on his shirt. It was explained at one time what it’s for, but I’ve forgotten. Does anybody on this forum remember?
This makes the fourth person (if I’ve counted right) the now-fractured gang has interacted with since their arrival. I think we’ve been using the term “ditto illusion” too much. Whatever it is, whatever the dittoes level of involvement may be, it is not what we’ve seen before as a “ditto illusion.”
Wally’s looking at the radiation badge the school teacher gave him when he was stationed overseas. He’s checking for Amesworth radiation.I think at the time of this scenario, his past self has probably just mutated and is locked up on a ship headed back to the remains of Hillside.
I wonder if that’s a founding resident of Unity. Wally could be faced with a “Would you kill Hitler before he becomes Hitler” situation if he thinks this is a reality where this person could be responsible for Unity. And if he stops the creation of Unity, he could be stopping this reality’s Wally from meeting Kirbee.
This may be a parallel universe going exactly like theirs, except slightly slower. In which case, Wally may have a double existence in the same universe at present. That would explain his badge changing color because he really is being exposed to more radiation. As far as Coyoty’s Unity possibility, What he does in another universe would not necessarily have an effect in his original universe. He would still know Kirbee and Chic.
first panel shows the collapsed portion of the ceiling, second panel the bodies and blood stains. I’m not sure we ever saw the floor before because there were so many people in there.
Looks to me like the radiation badge is glowing in the third panel. If I recall correctly, as in the last panel, one of the symptoms of radiation poisoning is thirst. Is that a severely ill Kirbee?
If I remember correctly, if the badge turns white then you’ve received a fatal dose of Amesworth Radiation. Wally’s badge is turning white. So the question becomes, is that also an illusion or have the dittos actually advanced to the point where they create Amesworth Radiation while simulating the explosions? And if they have, what does this mean for our adventuring party?
That badge looks a lot whiter than it did in the previous pages. Looking back on this sequence, I’m just amazed at what Aaron has done. The level of detail, of world building. This is so amazingly cinematic. Sometimes I’m just blown away.
“Our” Kirby is wearing pants with Holly’s apron (?) wrapped around her tail wound. This individual is wearing what appears to be long skirt. If it’s Kirby, it may be part of the illusion and not “our” Kirby.
The end town elevators came up through a layer of dust. There were no buildings at the top. Either these elevators aren’t representative of the End town elevators or this building is dusted soon. (Ignoring the fact that clearly these are an illusion of the elevators, not reality or….Oh never mind.
Is this a young Kirbee? Like, she failed to get into (what I’m guessing is) Endtown so she wandered away and eventually ended up in that lizard colony? If she was a relatively recent immigrant to that colony it would explain why she was so bubbly, I imagine most of the others would have been pretty hard after basically slaughtering all their non-reptile residents, but if she missed that part it would give her a softer tone.
Has anyone considered that the whole of this screenplay has been for Wally’s benefit alone, and that Kirbee, Chic and Irving were illusions? When this all fades away, we’ll be left with an empty room with just Wally and Holly?

Is that badge starting to turn…white? If the radiation is entering the chamber, I don’t think any of those elevators are coming back up anytime soon.

If the badge saved him (not sure if it is just an indicator of radiation or for protection) what is that other person doing alive?
