One of the best pieces of advice an uncle of mine gave me, if you make a mistake, see it through to the end, DON’T try to back up, DON’T try to cut across 3 lanes at 65 mph, with 50 feet to do it in, DO pay attention to what you are doing, DO pay attention to what everyone else is doing. He was a quiet man who seldom spoke, but when he did, very wise advice came out.

use a large truck, it always has right-of-way. i learned this driving in los angeles. just stay out of their way and you will be fine.
