The GOP has been courting this type of voter since Nixon’s Southern Strategy. The chickens are coming home to roost.

They correctly observed that they weren’t connecting with minorities and women. What they were not able to do is admit that their POLICIES marginalized minorities and women and change them. So they doubled down and worked on eliminating those inconvenient voters. It’s starting to look like apartheid here and there, just more subtle…

They have no idea how to connect to people they find abhorrent and icky, which is most people.

Bordering on fascism? More like full-fledged fascism.

My feeling is that they’re trotting out the craziest a year early, so that when they finally produce someone like the last few candidates, it’ll be such a contrast and such a relief, that it’ll almost seem like an improvement WAS made over 2012…

Why do people hate people of other races, colors, and other countries? We are all people!Have people always been this way?If only we could look past the outward differences, and see each other’s likeness and same-ness we could get a lot done. I wish that war didn’t make a handful of people immensely rich. If we weren’t so quick to cast blame and aspersions at each other?I wish that instead of a few getting rich off war, that every one would get extreme pain, if people got pain, or poorer, not just they average people but the rich, we would see a lot fewer wars.

Just make a deal with Trump. Maybe VP, as an attack dog like Cheney. Maybe promise that he’ll never have to pay an income tax rate higher than Willard The ChickenHawk.Or maybe promise that he can import as many immigrants as he needs — an’ it’ll be all nice ‘n’ legal.

    T. Rump reminds me of Mussolini. An arrogant, ignorant, dangerous demagogue. If you haven’t read today’s NY Times editorial, here’s the link:

When I was a boy, we had the poll tax. In order to vote, one had to get the county tax collector to stamp PAID by your name in the book. Of course, a WASP who was a miser could be excused from the tax and still get the stamp. And if any non-WASPs tried to pay the tax, the tax collector would call some very altruistic and helpful patriots wearing white sheets to explain to the non-WASPs why taking food out of the mouths of their children was NOT a good use of their limited financial resources..Those were halcyon days. Non-WASPs don’t really understand US democracy well enough to be able to cast intelligent votes, and now that they’ll allowed to vote and attend schools, they just make lots of problems for the US of A.
