If there is a Holly on the other side, given what happened with Flask and there being two Aarons at the end, I’m going to be stuck wondering of the original Holly was left behind all alone or if she too made the trip.
No pillar of salt this shaft be.That’s Amesworth dust my friends…And it’s ALIVE!“Please keep you hands, stumps, tentacles, and or paws inside the ride at all times, and have a great trip!”Looks like Wally met the height requirements for this ride, but this is no kiddy ride. This is real! And the stakes are high..Very high.
Yep, the kid waving goodbye makes me think Wally is dead, His only hope now is to let go the balloon and fall back. The next scene would be him waking up (with a wide-eyed gasp) in front of a weeping Holly.
If the balls are souls, maybe the eye is a…“guide” that will allow Wally to see other lives in the past, present, future. Perhaps like the Christmas spirits in Dickens’ story.
I noticed that all the floating tiny spheres have cleared out. Did they all approach the eye balloon and turn to blood nearing it, adding to the content/energy of the balloon? The pillar suggests it is the vehicle of transit to a different plane of existence. Is the balloon going to give Wally second sight at some point, merging with his eyes?
This looks like the river of souls being sent up for reincarnation. When Flask took the ride she started out as a ball and ended up in another reality in her present form as an adult anthro feline with her tail. The question is, what is Wally doing at this place and why is he rolling on this river? If he’s dead, why didn’t he morph into a sphere? My guess this is a dream of some sort and will end with Wally waking up with a new mission. Time and Aaron Neathery will tell.
Wally is thinking“I tripped on a cloud and fell 8 miles high”“I tore my mind on a jagged sky”“I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.”
The eye might represent Jim, who has already schismed and is tainted by the shoe stealer. If Holly’s soul is strong enough to resist corruption, then Jim’s needs Wally’s guidance more. If the shoe stealer is stranding souls by preventing them from walking to the column of light, then Wally is helping this one by carrying it to the light.
I assuming this is going somewhere, it usually does, just takes so long to do so. But usually worth it, ….just in the mean time, ….you know…..(twiddle thumbs)

Or perhaps, considering Wally’s personality, it should be “Up, up and away!”

Plus I love the angle of the last panel. Aaron sure has perspective and that’s one thing I love about Endtown.
