    That’s a pretty good trick for a non-performing pooch.

Geez, Cleo, why make such a production out of it? How long did it take you to dress up in your tartan?

    Welcome, everybody….. I know you’re all on the way…

    ready to talk about ….

the May 24th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY”

Maybe you can hear it from all the way over on Sherpa:

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

    Yikes.

Hi Liverlips….. I guess you’re never heard that bagpipe music is the official signal of basset hounds wanting to go outside before dawn?

Ok, neither have I…. But I’ll tell you one thing…

Ain’t nobody gonna sleep through them.

And you don’t want to sleep through a dog really needing to go outside.

Or course… There’s room for dispute, when it comes to a phrase like “really needing to.”

    Sometimes it’s a genuine emergency… “gosh I’m sorry, but I just can’t help it…”

Other times, it’s more like a “need” to bark at a squirrel three houses away.

Or maybe just to show that cool great Dane next door your new tartans…

Which, btw, you wear because…. what else would you wear to play bagpipes?

They just don’t sound the same if you’re wearing jeans… or in Cleo’s case, nothing but a collar.

Big deal – on top of me being sick yesterday, the renovators of the flat upstairs were still busy removing the tiles in the bathroom. Starting early as usual. Without a break. And heavy machinery.

I would have preferred the bagpipes – or even our neighbor directly upstairs playing her accordion. Which she does. But not in the middle of the night. Well, most times.

I thought for a second that Cleo had done something else kinda smelly to get them out of bed to feed her. I’m not sure which one would have been worse. The smell or the sound.

Cleo rocks that tartan. Unlike Gaylord today. https://www.gocomics.com/broomhilda/2020/05/24

There goes Claude again with his “Confound it, Cleo”.

She’s probably waiting for Claude and Clara to get their kilts on and dance, too.
