Hey, it IS whole, isn’t it?

And what about that 2% milk? What IS the other 98%?

Why should I pay upwards of 3½ dollars for a gallon of 2% milk, when I’m only getting 2.56 ounces?

But one halfwit plus one halfwit does not make a whole wit.Not everything is cumulative.

I like milk! I have been drinking it all my life, and I am in my late 60s! Of course, mixing in some Ovaltine can make milk a delicious treat!

My preference is for 2%, although I wouldn’t turn down good old whole milk if it was offered! Now as far as the stuff called “skim”… yech!

If other animals baked brownies or chocolate chip cookies they’d drink milk as adults too…

neverenoughgold: Don’t listen to the pontificating food fadists. I have been drinking milk for over 82 years and the only ill-effect has been a bit of a milk belly.

Humans aren’t the only animals who drink milk as adults. Cats do, too. That is, the ones who are lucky and smart enough to get humans to do all the work, do.

Other animals drink milk as adults too, when they can get it. Humans are the only animals that can easily get it. When humans provide milk to other adult animals, they love themselves some milk. The same fallacy about herbivores and meat. Many herbivores will eat meat when they can get it, and have been observed eating carrion. Sometimes ruminants will trample small animals and birds to get at their meat and marrow.

“…we drink milk from a different animal. It’s not good for us.”.We also eat plants and other animals. We’ve evolved to both tolerate and need them. Some strains of humans — mostly northern European stock — have evolved to thrive on cows’ milk. It doesn’t hurt us, though it can cause stomach upset and diarrhea in other humans..I like milk, and it seems to be good for me. Milk with different amounts of butterfat have different tastes, and I can enjoy them all. (I also like different kinds of bread… white, whole wheat, rye, etc., and different types of apples.) In fact, I’ve been lucky enough to have the opportunity to sample fresh milk from different individual cows and discover that they can also differ in taste… but all (so far) delicious!
