The spike heels dig into the snow and ice much better than flat shoes.
And one of our local shopping centers always has all the snow piled in the handicapped spaces. When I asked about it (hubby often needs to park there) the answer was “those people shouldn’t be out in bad weather”.

For us nice weather after prepare for DST. Set clocks early go to bed early.We did not get that freezing weather they have on the strip. Not living on the east coast helps.I cannot wear high spike heels toes would not like.

I have stainless steel spikes that fit over my shoe soles. Excellent gripping on ice.
