With the vocabulary he has and doesn’t know the simplest arithmetic? In some ways, he should be in college.

Calvin is just using a lifeline. After the call he can either go 50/50 or poll the comment section.

117, Calvin, 117!One can certainly tell that this strip is of the day. Nothing but paper on Dad’s desk, with a pen in his hand, and the kid using a pay phone on the wall at school. Kids these day don’t even know what a pay phone is and wouldn’t know how to use one if they found one.

Actually, I wouldn’t even TELL anyone about that, let alone brag. I mean, if you were illiterate, you wouldn’t.

Why didn’t I think of that! I was to busy texting to find out who’s house we were going to when school was out… should’ve inquired about some answers!

Given the father’s inability to correctly answer Calvin’s questions in the past, this was probably not the ideal study buddy. He probably gave Calvin the wrong answer.

Have a rough idea of metric, starting with my record collection [25cm=10in record, 30cm=12in], plus living in Europe for nigh on 20 years [equals 20 years], but I still tend to think, How much is that in REAL measurements. I imagine it’s much the samewith emigrants to the US and Britain.
