Out of curiosity, the girls appear to be around the same age, so who is watching the asylum with her gone?

If this is a rerun, is it of the arc where the girls decide to redecorate the bathroom?

Courtesy of Wikipedia:The Noodle Incident is a running gag about an event at school in which Calvin was involved in the past. Whenever a character mentions it to Calvin, he immediately gets very defensive about it. The June 10, 1989 strip hinted that worms were involved. The incident itself is never shown or explained, although various allusions appear throughout the strip.
Watterson has said that there’s no definite idea of what the Noodle Incident was, just that it was a reference to some unknown event which allowed the readers to set their imaginations loose.

Is this a repeat? How can Gramma “babysit” if she’s in South Africa?

I love Phil’s expression… And for those wondering why their relationship doesn’t seem to move along, this could be it.

Who cares if it’s a repeat? It’s still funny, and we haven’t seen Phil in a while.

FYI: Not a re-run. Sunday strips are stand-alone themes.

OK……….. I presume that week days and Sunday strips are in two different universes.

“Never craftier than when hungry…I studied how the Italian nearest me was mastering his spaghetti. He twisted his fork in it, wrapping it around the tines. Cautiously I dropped my fork vertically into the coiled mass and began screwing it into the plate. Sure enough, the spaghetti twined itself around the revolving axis. All of it. I got 100% results first try…”Eric Nicol, The Roving I

Isn’t Gramma in South Africa?

Sunday strips are submitted months in advance of the weekly strips. Sometimes it causes inconsistencies like this one. It is still funny. I remember being at that point where I needed supervision but resented being called a baby sitter!

Sunday strips take longer to produce than weekday strips (coloring, mostly) which is why they’re rarely in continuity with each other. Don’t sweat it.
