Since there’s a picture of the very first McDonald’s restaurant on Frog Blog, I’ve decided to share with you all the very first McDonald’s TV commercial:

Doesn’t Ronald give you the creeps?

That is one creepy McDonald’s commercial. Was that guy at the end smoking a joint?

I hope he washes those pants once in a while… maybe he has multiple pairs.

    That McDonald’s food looked good.

barticle35, the guy at the end was my friend Benny, and he most likely was smoking a joint. Right now he’s on a no-drugs/vegan diet/no cigarettes kick, or at least he was the last time I talked to him.

I find his commentary on the following McDonald’s commercial to be absolutely hysterical:

here in the midwest, we got burger chef before mcdonalds…same 15 cent price, though……I don’t remember anything tasting as good as those hamburgers did, purchased with money I earned on my paper route ….a twelve year old in 2010 is a lot different than one in 1959—sort of a lesson in anthropology, that original burger chef is long gone, it’s a rib joint now

gad, i sound like some rambling old geezer from tulsa, don’t I?…sorry!—-

that mcdonalds commercial zapped me back fifty years just as sure as a time machine would have…….

    nighthawks:

People get upset if you eat too many hamburgers, then they get upset of you don’t eat enough hamburgers.

Hamburgers are NOT made with ham.

What does Tulsa have to do with Ronald Reagan’s pants?

nighthawks - don’t be sorry. You, I can relate to with the same type of memories from the same era. Money earned from my paper route gave that 10¢ comic book more value. (And you ought not let anyone cramp your style.) ☺

Ushindi–Are the culottes you’re NOT wearing butterscotch?

The statue of Ronald McDonald in the indoor playland near my home looks a little like Kim Jong Il.

ransomknotts, thanks… I guess you CAN go home again.

and as far as that Kim McJong II goes…

that’s almost as frightening as all this talk about butterscotch trousers.

This is exactly the reason I cropped my avatar, so you couldn’t see I wasn’t wearing any pants. How in the world did you know? Now I’m embarrassed.
