To put it real: none of that has ever or will ever be washed. Except maybe the stockings maybe and undergarments maybe.If real silver thread, it would tarnish pretty quickly, and it would be hot and uncomfortable to wear (and no deodorant). Soooo it was sewn for the portrait, most likely at a pretty penny and what orinoco said. An uprising on the horizon!
