Why does it take “mass shootings”, meaning three or more fatalities, to get peoples’ attention, as there are over 30 homicides by gun a day in the U.S., just not “Newsworthy” from the NRA perspective?

I think if you look into each of those countries you would find that they have a high number of death by “blade” weapons. That is how their history settled their countries. We on the other hand have used the gun when we settled our country and we never made them hard to get. They have been way to easy to get in the last century. After most every early war, when it was over the government took the guns back and put them in the armory. People need to read the full 2nd amendment. “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”So if you are not in the “well regulated Militia” ie National Guard why do you need a gun?

There is no way for you to back up that opinion with any kind of reliable statistic.

“It doesn’t take a genius (or conspiracy theorist) to figure out the parallels between Nazi gun control laws and some of the same provisions being pushed by Feinstein. Understanding that our country is not a totalitarian state (yet), Feinstein and other gun-controllers like President Obama, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and others all know they have to take a longer, more measured approach to disarming the U.S. public, that they can’t just mandate it overnight.

But make no mistake, new gun control laws like those being proposed are nothing more than rehashed mandates dredged up from the past, with similar intentions: To make political opponents and the masses less powerful and less able to resist." http://www.infowars.com/yes-hitler-really-did-take-the-guns-before-throwing-jews-into-concentration-camps-or-gas-chambers/

Shall we ask the Jewish people, the Polish people, the Russian people, the Chinese people about gun control and the ability to resist a tyrannical government? Naw, you don’t have to go that far….I am Polish, I have family in Poland, except when my grandparents fled, it was called Russian Poland. And that was BEFORE Hitler invaded.

Let’s talk about the proliferation of the drugs used to “control” mental disease and the horrible side effects they contain. EVERY single one of the mass murderers was on a psychiatric drug. "Psychiatrists can’t predict what adverse side effects you might experience because not one of them knows how their drugs work.

Psychotropic drugs are increasingly being exposed as chemical toxins with the power to kill. Psychiatrists claim their drugs save lives, but according to their own studies, psychotropic drugs can double the risk of suicide. And long-term use has been proven to create a lifetime of physical and mental damage, a fact ignored by psychiatrists.

Common and well-documented side effects of psychiatric drugs include mania, psychosis, hallucinations, depersonalization, suicidal ideation, heart attack, stroke and sudden death.

Not only that, but The US Food and Drug Administration admits that probably one to ten percent of all the adverse drug effects are actually reported by patients or physicians." http://www.cchr.org/quick-facts/psychiatric-drugs-side-effects.html

“Authors Richard Hughes and Robert Brewin, in their book, The Tranquilizing of America, warned that although psychotropic drugs may appear “to ‘take the edge off’ anxiety, pain, and stress, they also take the edge off life itself…these pills not only numb the pain but numb the whole mind.” In fact, close study reveals that none of them can cure, all have horrific side effects, and due to their addictive and psychotropic (mind-altering) properties, all are capable of ruining a person’s life.

Consider also the fact that terrorists have used psychotropic drugs to brainwash young men to become suicide bombers. At least 250,000 children worldwide, some as young as seven, are being used for terrorist and revolutionary activities and given amphetamines and tranquilizers to go on “murderous binges” for days. Yet these are the same drugs that psychiatrists are prescribing children for “learning” or “behavioral” problems." http://www.cchr.org/cchr-reports/psychiatry/introduction.html

It’s not the gun, it’s the drugs that convinced the man to pick it up and shoot it, to drive the car into the pedestrians, to grab the knife and stab people.

It is not a perfect parallel, however Germany is much smaller than the US. Our government is arming its controlled agencies, DHS, USGS, NOAA, it is sending MRAPS to local police departments, etc. I would say that is a form of arming the “good” Americans, while disarming, or trying to anyway, the “inferior” peoples, namely anyone they do not have control of such as hunters, veterans, gun owners, farmers, conservatives, Christians, anyone who wants to go off-grid, etc. The list goes on. You can no longer get unbiased news, but there is info out there, you just have to dig for it. If you don’t think our government thinks of us, you and me, and everyone around us as inferior, then why aren’t they doing more to remove from general population the criminals: the murderers, the rapists, the child abusers/pedophiles, the robbers, the burglars, the thieves? Gun are a means to protect you, your family, your property. If you remove the criminals, you remove the crime, and one of the reasons for having a gun. The most important reason for having the right to bear arms, is to provide a check to the rise of a tyranny. In a war, citizens who are killed are considered “collateral damage” meaning, our deaths are not important to the overall goal of a war. Why is that? Because we are inferior to the people who are in power. Power corrupts, and our government, the people in it, have become corrupted by power, and will do anything to keep it, including exploiting the mentally ill as an means to justify the end. They are doing it one step at a time, subtly, carefully, so as not to upset the masses, except when it serves their purpose: To strip us of our Creator-given rights, and to flush our Constitution down the toilet. Our one-of-a-kind, well-thought-out, defended, treasured, Constitution and our Bill of Rights, the antithesis to any good tyranny. Ask yourself this: how many other countries want what we have?

The problem isn’t the guns, it’s the attitude. In the US there is an alarmingly common attitude that if someone threatens, offends or upsets you, it is perfectly reasonable to shoot them as a first response.

donaldo…you can beg to differ…but, facts are facts …and more people are saved because of guns that are killed by guns….and most “mass shootings” are done in gum free zones…where killers have a good idea that nobody will stop them.

The sad thing here is that everyone is talking about guns but not talking about the dialogue this country needs to have on mental health care.
