Put all the guns in government thugs hands and see who gets shot.

Individual congregations can still prohibit weapons in their buildings. The law abolished the previous law on the books which prohibited carrying weapons on churches. But, you still can’t tote a gun into the state Capitol building.

Maybe Luckovich should look at Arizona where such laws have been in place for years and the sort of nonsense he spouts hasn’t happened. The law here allows them but the person carrying cannot drink alcohol while carrying. Bars are also allowed to ask you to check your weapon and provide secure storage for it while in the establishment.

I recommend The Caning by Stephen Puleo, on this event. And it is terrifying how it resonates with modern politics. It was grimly amusing to see how a so-called gentleman decided to attack an unarmed man from behind (and also he was constrained by his desk, so could not rise easily), simply because he had decided he was NOT a gentleman. Nice when you get to decide all the rules!

Had the law been enforced (who knows WHY that wasn’t the case/custom), she wouldn’t have needed her weapon, as the perp would NOT have gotten in, armed ! You logic is impeccable.

I strongly encourage all gun nuts to go to the nearest bar, and proudly stand your ground!
