You want something easy to play that requires very little practice, Phil’s nephew Mike, try the mouth harp!

Violin? You have to guess where the notes are AND try not to squeak!! At least until you’ve had years of practice!

My father play piano by reading music – he had none of the “natural ability”. When he tried to teach us -one mistake, fine Do it again and he would yell at us – third time, he would start slapping us – no wonder we never learned

In all seriousness, if a cartoon character reminds you of a mother you hate, why spend one minute of time reading the cartoon? I know I’ve asked it before, but it’s a valid question. Life is short enough; why volunteer for more discomfort?

psychlady: A trombone is much the same. Not only do you need to get the slide in the precise position, there is the matter of lip tension, breath pressure, degree of tonguing, and being able to change it all in time for the next note. A trombonist may have it all within arm’s reach, but other instrumentalists have it at their fingertips.

Music is music. It’s hard to play, but it’s more fun than nearly anything else you can do!

Only downside is that for most of us, we have to do it so badly for so long before it gets good ….

Yeah, I’ve been there several times. Worth it once you get there, it is!
