Great sleeping weather this morning, so I slept in…and now, it seems that there isnt enough caffiene in the world for me…

Absolutely ! I rarely drink tequila because of my preference for mezcal. The twenty some odd years in Arizona with frequent trips into Mexico, refined my palate. There are certain brands of tequila that I do like but are difficult to come by in the States and nigh on impossible to purchase here in Ecuador. Prices for even such plebeian tequilas as Conmemorativo añejo are astronomical here ! And mezcal ? Forgetaboutit !

The worm is strictly for gringos. It was a marketing gimmick and a lot of b.s. is attached. I have " comido el gusano " ( eaten the worm ) on many occassions. Last shot in the bottle gets the worm. There is no alcohol or hallucinogen in the worm and no mala suerte attached to it. My preferred bottles of Mezcal do not come with the Americano worm in it. I’m after the smokey taste not the bug.

Trivia quiz: Has there EVER been a funny episode of Andy Capp with the theme of their trivia quiz nights? I can’t recall any. (Nor for Guitar Bob, either.) These lame episodes are liable to make readers turn to drink! (To paraphrase W. C. Fields: “It was bad cartoonists who drove me to drink…..never thanked them for it.”)

Has Chalkie got a mashed potato or a cauliflower for a brain?
