My fifth grade homeroom teacher was a gray haired, no nonsense lady. Mrs. Davis, an ideal 5th grade teacher.

She was also my mother’s 5th grade teacher, but her name was Pate then. Funny thing was that our family had only moved back to out hometown for that one year, and this happens.

Good idea, but maybe distribute them among the other teachers.

My 11th grade English teacher was also my Dad’s and my Grandmother’s English teacher. She retired the year I graduated.

Sister Mary Rogers – scary teacher and principal. Turned out it was all an act. She’d brace an 8th grade boy twice her size and put him in his place, then go in the office and chuckle about it.

I remember a teacher like her in grade school, 4th grade to be exact. I got the other teacher, the sweet mild one, which worked with me.

But I also remember seeing Mrs. Scary out in the playground, with all her pupils, DURING REGULAR SCHOOL HOURS, instead of inside, reading a book to them.

    So.

    There you go.

    =^_______________^=

Mrs. Brummett was my teacher, and also in the Methodist that I went to until I repented of religion. =^_^= Sweet lady.

I can’t remember Mrs. Scary’s name, but my next oldest brother, ornery as any 4th grade boy can be, who NEEDED discipline, he got her. She didn’t seem to be a bad sort, but she scared me nearly enough to need something poured out of my shoes, to quote Susan Sto Leidt (sp?) from the Discworld series.

She said, all is fine and good, but just remember, when it is all over, then someone is going to have to pour the wee out of the shoes!" Her profession was a governess, usually of about grade school children, at one point. She know all about frightened little children. I quite like her. =^_^=

After all, she is Death’s daughter, I wouldn’t mind knowing her, and her father, who is one of Terry Pratchett’s most brilliant characters I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet in a book. =^________^=

I just remembered Mrs. Scary. Virginia Brake. =^= The “scary” one who read books out loud to her class outside in the sunshine. Wow. =__________^=

One of the teachers my son had the most difficulty pleasing was, he discovered in later years, one of the best teachers he’d had.
