Poor Sophie is so embarrassed. Look how she has her head down so she doesn’t have to see her friends in the Ballard Street Barking Bitch Brigade laughing at her.

Well, it’s embarrassing for Sophie.Head down, tail up….

Fred’s position, in the dog world, is playful and submissive.

It means “Don’t worry, I’m no danger to you.”

Sophie’s on a leash….. so she herself looks surrendered to the least macho man on the street.

Where is the proud leader of the pack she longs to follow. In their house, that’s Mrs. Chambers.

You’re right, Ling…. Lucky for Fred he’s not trying that posture in the Big House.

And that there aren’t any 6 foot tall dogs on Ballard Street.

    I’m well, thanks, Red… you?

I think it’s OK to say “tomorrow” before bedtime, even if that bedtime is part of “today” for some people.

Cos otherwise I get up the same day I went to bed!

Fenton, I think that man needs a scotch. You know the kind.

Somehow, the first thing to hit my mind was Whittaker Chambers. Then I thought – Holy cow, give him a more appropriate expression and he even looked like Ballard Street.

Mr. Chambers has a serious medical condition. He is “Walkies Challenged”He is unable to perform the simple task of “walkies” without holding on to his ankles for support.Serious disease, really, saw an afterschool special about it.And Linguist I remember the bend over and grab your ankles in military induction time. You forgot to add “and SMILE”.

Some people read anti-semitism into Parsifal, but I just didn’t see it. I don’t care what Wagner’s beliefs were; great music is great music. My brother refuses to listen to U2 because he disagrees with Bono’s radical views.

There came a point in Fred Chambers’ life when he quit bending over backwards for people and started bending forward…so they could…

…kiss his a$$…![ based on an Internet quote ]

Considering that I want to tame my finances, I’ve spent a lot lately. Altogether it will cost quite a few 100s just the medicine plus supplements for this purge (taking things for 4 weeks in increasing quantity). And he told me in advance that I will feel like hades (I hope that is one of many things that applies to “Most People”. I also bought specialty foods from Honeyville Farms, a 25# package of unbleached almond flour to make my own crackers (a nice treat with or after meals). I had no problem converting my chili to meatless (tho’ I bought 1 can of sausage TVP and a 16oz package of caraway seeds.

I taped the whole ring cycle from the Met broadcasts and saved to DVD. They were making such a deal about the sets. I just don’t find much of the music appealing at all and I really like light opera.

My man and I were bored to death by Boris Godunov at the Lyric and since it was opening night (and very nearly my birthday) he had excellent seats (center and in first 3 rows, a few years have passed so I don’t remember exactly). We enjoyed intermissions and people watching most. I think we had eaten at Chez Paul if it was still open. I wore a dress of my own design (naturally) and my fur coat. We enjoyed critiquing everyone’s outfits. I know we had a great meal at that or another eatery but that was one of our favs. Too many great ones have passed on as the chefs retired.

    @Susan

There’s some sort of malfunction above….your “needle is stuck”! lol

Anyway, the mystery is solved. I just learned that the little guys found some doll clothes and doll furniture left behind by the Monkey’s nieces the day he was sworn in last summer. They had the cards in their hands but didn’t know what to do with them! Isn’t that adorable???? That’s not a look of guilt like I thought it was, but of bewiderment! They’re just imitating what they’ve seen others do on Pitch tournament nights, but really don’t have a clue as to what it all means.

Yes…sorry for raising a false alarm. They really are enthusiastic little monkeys with a very impressive work ethic, and they’re so devoted to Susan and the Monkey. I must apologize for jumping to conclusions that turned out to be way far of the truth! That’ll teach me to get my facts straight first from now on!

And, so…to bed! Good night, everyone.
