    @wmconelly-

    If you’re defending Sen. McCain’s irritable behavior on the grounds he’s been to war and the rest of us haven’t, then I can only say your logic is completely utterly flawed.

    Human beings have the remarkable ability to use their imagination and see beyond their immediate experience to formulate analysis, plans and opinions. While their thinking might not have the emotional depth of someone who’s been thru a war, a person can figure out the effects and consequences of actions. If we could only allow people who have fought (which the largest majority of an army don’t) in a war to have any opinion, then we would be forced to have wars just so we could have decision makers.

    Along these logical lines, no male elected official should ever be allowed to legislate on abortion issues, since it is impossible for any male to give birth. Only women could propose and vote on this legislation. Just sayin !!

    McCain doesn’t have a monopoly on truth because he was a POW. I haven’t been to war, but I have my opinions and the First Amendment allows to present them. His experience doesn’t invalidate my reasoning. That is why we have an open society (yes, that’s another debate for another day) to allow all opinions to air and the collective will determined.

    In summation, I won’t tell my doctor how to proceed in a treatment, but I will expect to be consulted on the decision as to which treatment I want. It’s only fair.

    Neither Einstein, nor Newton, nor Galileo, nor Darwin ever participated in combat, yet somehow they made larger contributions to the human enterprise than all the warriors combined. McCain deserves our respect for his military service – nothing more, nothing less.

    “What is this comic about? Nothing relative to reality.”Yes, but that also describes most of your posts.

    Lot of Kool Aid lovers here on both sides of the political fence, but no coherent explanation of what this comic is suppose to mean…

    I give credit to McCain for something besides his military service and his POW ordeals – he asks some tough questions of the two cabinet appointees going before confirmation hearings…and he’s in a small minority in doing that.If we’re not vewy, vewy careful (to paraphrase Elmer Fudd), we are going to find ourselves in a police state where the power to execute Americans without benefit of trial or jury (that’s in the Constitution) will be at the fingertips of Barack Obama, their guilt having been established by unelected suits applying standards not sanctioned by any court of law, but set by the ObamaNation administration itself.

    Ridiculous, you say? – Maybe.However – an’ make no mistake about THIS – it would be the height of folly to underestimate this government of ours…
