Humans can also eat their own vomit, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay because dogs do it.

Speed dating for dogs. Or maybe more like meeting for coffee.

Cleo remembered it about as well as Claude. I love her sleeping position.

I’m with Claude — sounds like a good, light, midnight snack, although I might be hungry an hour later. I wonder what I should have with it? A couple pounds of applewood smoked bacon? Some baked beans? Grilled tomatoes? Kippers?

Clara should have called Mary Worth and told her the address and then asked her to call Claude and tell him the address. That would have been easy peasy.

Hello, Cleo followers, present and future…

By that last, I mean those who just showed up, but will stick around…. glad to have you.

Thanks, Nighthawks, for posting the Jan 8th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY”

While we await the strip’s return to Sherpa.

I’d have been here sooner, but I had to go make some pancakes….

That’s my story, and I’ll stick to it till I think up a better one.

This is an older model Cleo…. square jawed and walking on all fours…. but talking, so not waaay back.

Not like Clara’s phone… which she bought before we knew her… but probably still uses in newer strips too.

When was the last time you did?

I’m happy to report that my sister doesn’t any more…

She didn’t want to buy a phone… she’d gotten a new push button one, like Clara’s, when her rotary one broke, and it still worked fine…

A rental from the phone company, @$1.50 a month.

Maybe 15 years ago a representative asked what the $1.50 charge was on her bill.

When she said “phone rental” , the woman said oh, no…. we don’t do that any more… my sister was afraid they were taking away her precious phone… but no…. “It’s yours now.”

Apparently she’d already paid many times its value, and they didn’t even want it back.

She only used it another dozen years or so after that.

    Meanwhile…. yeah, like Claude, I always think I’ll remember…

Not just numbers… but even if I do write them down…. whose they are, what they pertain to…

So many little scraps of paper, notes on envelopes…. numbers with no names…. a name and a number with no where or why…

So now, of course, I’ve updated to entering them into my cell phone. But who IS that person… and why did I want to call?

Wait up, Farside…. did you say bacon??

I think small, hollow ceramic models of those two dogs…

it might be Jasper and Tag… hard to tell in that position, and in black and white….

would make a great set of salt and pepper shakers.

You know, the kind you push back together after you use them… so they curve together, nose to tail, on the table.

I can see the looks on a few people’s faces, trying to decide whether they’re rude…. but it’s just a friendly doggie hello.

    LOL

    @SusanSunshine. @FarSide said kippers. (mmmmm – kippers).

I was going to have capers on my kippers for lunch yesterday at work, but someone stole them.

That’s right. Someone copped my capered kippers.

And if I ever find out who did it, you know what I’m going to do, @Nighthawks?

Ohhhhhh…..I feel a ‘fix’ coming soon! The GoComics’ expert’s 5 year old granddaughter will be by after Kindergarten today and flip that switch and all will be well.

After all, they now have the address on Maple Street.

My daughter grows blackberries and made blackberry syrup. I now have pancakes just to eat that syrup. Delicious!
