This strip was written by Michael Jantze’s 9yo daughter:https://www.gocomics.com/culdesac/2012/02/22

To expand on others’ comments, that’s Bleeb. Can find him in every strip since Aug 2018. Little alien dude from Zorkon. https://www.facebook.com/closetohomefans/posts/3479613928746848

Hmm, looks like a relative of the Alot to me. http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/04/alot-is-better-than-you-at-everything.html

To build on what @Timeweaver said, reverse psychology works when your subject doesn’t catch on that you’re trying to do it. The idea is that people have a negative emotional reaction to being told what to do or how to do it, so if you try to, they will do the opposite. (Anyone ever have or remember being a teenager?) This doesn’t always work, and sometimes is confused with trying to guilt-trip the subject, which is just attempting to give the subject a negative reaction to the suggestion you want them to avoid directly.

apGwilym is right. “Froid” is “cold” en Français — both as in temperature or even figuratively as in coldness of a relationship — but it is definitely not a homophone for Freud, unless you count when it is mispronounced by sounding it out with an American accent. (“Froid” sounds close to “fwah.”) Teena is making a joke at Jeri’s flub (Reverse psychiatry? Is that giving someone the opposite medical treatment they need for a psychiatric condition?) — the concept of reverse psychology is not Freudian.

Hmmm. Another case of a poor coloring job ruining the joke. I think that’s supposed to be an omelet she’s flipping…

Oh no! I was beginning to wonder what the big catch was with their otherwise fabulous new place…

In any case, the strip would have been funnier if she were wearing a white shirt…

Reminds me of “Harold and the Purple Crayon” :)
