   Why is this unbelievable? We’ve offered our kids’ friends a place to stay. One lived with us for 6 months. My mom let my brother’s friend live with them for awhile after I had moved out. And they said “tonight”.I would not send a young lady away after a trauma like that. They all need some sleep before they tackle the problem of what to do next.

   They don’t have a generator? I would think someone with a mansion would have a generator.

   It comes with the territory, Bwad. I carried a first aid kit in my purse for years when I was raising kids. There were 4 of them, and SOMEONE was always bleeding. And don’t even get me started on emergency room visits. One of my daughters broke both arms in a scooter accident when she was 13. She thought it would be cool to close her eyes while riding downhill on a curved street.

   I was expected to pay a token amount while I was in school in the late 70’s/early 80’s, more when I was working full-time. I also expected my adult kids to pay if they were living at home and not working in their education.
