N7326 Foxtrot by all means, get a Shingles shot NOW!! I did after hearing all about how painful it is from my mother and sister. The doctor wasn’t sure my insurance would pay for it (they did) but I was willing to pay for it just to get the protection.

I had a nice, simple, easy to read, easy to spell last name. My husband had a German name that no one could pronounce correctly and was hard to spell. I tried to talk him into taking my last name, but, …sigh…he wasn’t interested!

When our boys were small we taught them to “hug a tree” when they got separated from us. In other words, instead of them walking around trying to find us and us walking around trying to find them, if they stayed in one place (find an object and stay there) we would eventually find them. It worked, too!

Being a stay-at-home mom isn’t easy. Even though my daughter-in-law has a Masters Degree, she has opted to quit her job to stay home and raise their 20 month-old daughter (with #2 on the way). It’s a lot of work, and yet very rewarding. She’s doing an excellent job. It takes a lot of energy to keep up with a toddler. She wears me out when I visit.

My youngest was a picky eater. We didn’t make him clean his plate, but if he didn’t eat what I served, he didn’t get dessert, either. Seems like over half the time he didn’t get dessert! Wouldn’t have thought he ate enough to grow to 6’3” like he did (but he’s still pretty thin!!)

wndrwrthg and ScatteringBliss, don’t negate the idea of having children. It is hard, grueling work, but very worthwhile, also. I have two grown sons, and wouldn’t have changed it for anything. Yesterday afternoon I rocked my 19 month old granddaughter to sleep. These are the rewards for being a parent!!

In our family we are all cat people. We’ve always had cats. Our grown son and his wife have a cat, also.
