   While I believe they are discussing an additional bonus on top of a base salary, even a bonus of $90K seems unrealisticly cheap for a BCS coach (or any other winning coach for that matter)!

   it was a charity game meant to break the record. i have heard about it previously, and if memory serves me correctly, each team scored over 100 goals.

   Not to mention that the Atlanta Braves had an even worse collapse (I believe up 10.5 games over the Cardinals) and you NEVER here about it anymore because the Red Sox had a similar collapse and are in a “major” market that the national news fixated on. The Braves must be happy that they aren’t the ones who are under the spotlight like this (at least in this particular situation).

   how can you call American football “football” when the only time it touches a players foot is on kickoffs, PAT, field goals and punts?

   isn’t it being a little egotistical saying that every other country in the world is wrong and we are correct?

   i can understand that not everyone thinks football is “the beautiful game” but the same can be said for baseball or American football.

   this is not a total exaggeration. Sports Illustrated had an article about the ability to test children for “sports” genes, that is genes that impact stamina, quick twitch muscle, etc. a couple of years ago.

   and yet no one had a problem with a pilot giving up and crashing a plane? Commentors the last two days seem to be missing that Jeff and Bill are alluding to being glad that not everyone acts like the Lakers did.

   mythreesons - my parents worked full time & as a reward for my hard work then not only did i get a sizable allowance (close $100 a month - it was my after school job) but they also paid for all of my college.

   camel - what are you talking about? My dad & his brother had a small black & white TV in their room back in the 70s even though they were raised by just their father.

    I’d say that it used to be that the parent didn’t give a bleeep that you were angry.

    I know my parents wouldn’t give in just because I was pouting. They were the parents & what they said went (as my punishment my cable would be taken out of my room, while they allowed the TV since I bought it with allowance, it was’t much good without anything to watch). If I didn’t do all my chores & on time(which progressed with age - by 7th grade when I was finally allowed to stay home after school I had to have dinner started when my parents got home and eventually included cleaning the entire house weekly, dishes, and taking care of my little sister after school) my allowance would be reduced a certain amount given the chore that wasn’t completed. And to think that I’m only 23 (my only grievance is that my younger sister by 7 years was not given the same responsibilities)…
