In the last panel, Rosa is standing there grinning. Greaseball, ( I can say it ‘cause I’m Italian) had no right to grab Gunther’s shirt in the first panel. His actions escalated the incident and Gunther complied with his request for him to leave. Too bad Gunther had another ‘oops’ moment on his departure! LOL

Geez, Gunth – you read everything, you should know this: He grabs your shirt like that he’s ASKING for a wrist-lock. Give it to him and enjoy the whimpers and the pleading. Then make him apologize to Rosa, and kick him in the face. Problem solved.

Doesn’t matter what happens next…Gunther…now ‘G-Man…" has gotten in TWO of his first. Real fighters know what I mean. I was a dweeby dork who eventually became a Green Beret…I didn’t always win in those, but I always went for it. I still have friends from it…and marks. And Orion… about then was the first couple of times I got to use the wristlock. Man was I GLAD of it, too, because I didn’t have anything then back of it…thanks to the Rosas, I’ve got a pretty good repetoire of behaviors NOW…thanks for the memories…and I don’t care what happens next…Gunther is always the “G-Man” to ME…he totally surprised me…

This reminds me of George McFly and Biff in the first Back to the Future" movie. Lets hope Gunther finds his spine and take the jerk out. The guy grabbing gunther’s shirt is enough to be called assault (Gunter’s action was an unintentional act, uh huh) Find that spine Gunther! Then when he has Rosa Tiffany can come in and try to steal him away. The plot thickens…

I wouldn’t bet on that. This is a comic strip, not downtown Detroit/Philly.

I was a 117 # weakling at one time. A group of guys egged a big strong guy into hitting me. I had never had a fight in my life.

The big guy crawled away bloody. Lost 3 teeth and broken nose.

    I was 17. Last fight I had.

    Walk away a winner.

I don’t understand all the comments that say that Gunther is going to run. Morever, the ones that say he is going to beat up all miss the point. He is finally committing himself to protect the girl he really cares about, probably loves. He might get beat up, might not. How many of those uninformed commenters remember the Brad and Toni arc, along with her dangerous boyfriend? Greg Evans may throw a loop in terms of what happens next, but what makes the strip continually enjoyable is the wisdom in human relations with young people dealing with eternal emotions he demonstrates with it. Gunther is using his “brain” to confront this jerk. And he is doing it for Rosa, who probably can take c/o herself by the way. (Throwing for a loop alert). That is the basic point here.

    Geez

This is similar to Brad’s girl Toni and the bully. I ‘m not sure where the artist is going with this. As far as the school personnel blowing it off, I did that once. Some girls came up and said “James is making nasty comments to us” and I didn’t do anything, just told them go sit down. Next thing I knew James was in one office, girls in another and me in another. This was back in the 70’s. Things might be different today, All I know is it was a bigger deal than I made it.
