i think this is my first post too…been registered many months.

i just had to say that my 9 year-old boy was introduced to Calvin & Hobbes last summer by his loving parents who thought he’d enjoy the humor. We travel a lot in the car and he would read and laugh and then we’d find out he didn’t know why it was funny…he just knew it was supposed to be funny.

Eventually, he began to catch more and more of the humor. Unfortunately, he enjoyed it too much and just like Calvin in this strip today, my son began to mimic some of Calvin’s words and actions.

I regret to say I had to hide all of our C&H books, and they remain in hiding to this day. I hope some day my son can handle reading C&H without the urge to blurt out or impulsively do some horrible thing! :-(

while i was here, I contributed a flag as well.

(good news here though…my son’s behavior and attitude improved immediately after hiding the C&H books and I hope we can re-introduce him to C&H in the future…like when he’s 25 years old) :-)

Mom caught on pretty good I thought . We raised 5 boys If you think you can relax to read or have a bath before bed time , you never had Calvin in the house. Calvin brings back good memory s . Our boys were active too.

I wonder if anyone can answer a question. I am trying to learn Spanish. I read all of the gocomics offered in spanish first, then I read them in english to make sure that I translated them correctly. Calvin and Hobbes is always a different cartoon than the english version. Check it out. http://www.gocomics.com/espanol/calvinandhobbesespanol. Does anyone have any idea if there is a way to find the english version?

Why on earth would Victoria’s Secret need to spread SPAM at all, let alone in comic strips? How pathetic.

What kid hasn’t either done this themself, or known another kid that did this, or attempted to do it? This is pretty common.

Hello all you commentors on todays strip. I must say you did a great job flagging who ever it was. I have a very clean comments to read.

This strip reminds me of where we use to live ages ago when our kids where small and lived in a different town. It was a mobile home court there was a lot of snow and one young teenager tried to do something, not smart, next they they knew in the park life watch helecopter came out long after the young man jumped off the roof of the mobile home to land in snow. He found out the hard way and became paralized life watch took him to one of the main hospitals.

Since it has been repeatedly flagged and is still there, does that mean that the site owners are now slipping advertising into the comments?

The conundrum with hackers is that anybody who is really on the white hat side, won’t hack into anywhere they haven’t been asked to by the site owner themselves.

I love the expression on Calvin’s face in the 2nd panel, where he’s still holding the book. That could’ve been me years ago.

This is the first day I’ve seen the spam. I guess the people who take it off don’t work sundays but the spammers do. Calvin’s mom should recognize earlier that he up to no good.

Hello, I’ve been reading this strip here for about two years, but I’ve never made a comment. I generally enjoy reading all the comments, though. What I’d like to know is, what happens when you flag something? And about that contest that Gocomics has been having to win the complete C & H books; shouldn’t it be finished by now? Thanks!

I am not sure what is funnier, the comic or the use of the English language by the flagged individual.
