Clearly, Ed is a man of vision.

Great, now Batiuk has me doing it.

Careful Ed, remember what happened to the guy in the Bible who kept expanding his barns.

Ed thinks he’ll rob everyone blind, but there’s no way he’ll see a profit.

“dosen’t seem right”…. He has to to turn a profit. Bautik gets how eclipses work, but not how buisness works, which is on brand for him.

Centerville, Ohio. Where is Engagement, Ohio? It is located somewhere between Dayton (Datin’), Ohio and Marion (Marryin’), Ohio.

I don’t see anything wrong with profiting from the fact that some people wait until the last second to think of these things. That said, I doubt he’ll sell quite that many boxes.

During the pandemic Cranky was one of those hoarders who bought all of the toilet paper and sold them for a huge profit.

Doesn’t bother me. I still have mine from the partial eclipse of 2017. I did the LED light test and they’re still good.

And that’s when Pam decided it was time to take control of her father’s finances.

I mean, look at that – how many thousands of dollars did he possibly spend on the glasses alone?? Ed’s a school bus driver, he doesn’t make THAT much money!! And the eclipse is Monday, how could he ever hope to sell all those glasses? There’s a huge red flag going up here. Ed is not able to handle his own money any more.

There’s an article in Forbes magazine in which an expert predicts the path of totality maps have a slight error. Some places near the edge of the path predicted to be in the path won’t be, and some predicted to be just outside will actually be inside.

So each box probably contains…1000 glasses? And he bought maybe 30 cases? This makes sense. Does he also have 30,000 air mattresses?

On news, there is town in Tenn or Kentucky that has the total eclipse line over it AGAIN. Last time 8 21 17. This never happens. Last time line was \ this time /.

It “makes” an X on the town

Ed; don’t you think that most of your…guests, will already have their own eclipse rated glasses? My mobile provider even offered them as a promotion.

How will this “story” end on Monday?

A: a single panel in which all the characters admire a glorious solar eclipse? Easy enough for Batty to “write,” though it’s not clear Ayers left any eclipse clip-art for Davis to copy-paste. And Batty must know that happy endings don’t lead to the P. U. Litzer prize.

B: a single panel in which all the characters are standing despondently in the pouring rain? Again, easy to “write” (and easy to draw), and the award-bait Serious Human Misery that Batty loves. But, since he “writes” this stuff a year in advance, is he willing to risk looking like a fool when Ahia basks in glorious sunshine?

C: nothing about the eclipse at all; instead, the start of a new “story” about Mopetoni’s Pizza and-or* Komix? After all, there’s a hard-and-fast rule that comic-strip stories must be short.

can’t use the standard and-slash-or because the nannybot interprets the slash character as a URL and they are Not Allowed. If this is “artificial intelligence” in action, we have nothing to fear.
