Thanks for the information. I know what to avoid. The best performers are Australian eucalyptus, South African Bird of Paradise, Italian mint, German lavender, and Filipino 4 O’clock Glories are healthy and fragrant. I like the United Nations of gardens. There is room for more representatives.
I am from the middle class and could not afford an animal menagerie of exotic animals from around the world. Instead, I have international pen pals who send me seeds of their native plants. In southern California, the Brazilian, South African, and Australian flowers thrive. There is no danger of an invasive species taking over the world.
Growing herbs, fruits, vegetables, flowers, shrubs, and trees give me a sense of pride. Doing what I can to put oxygen back into the atmosphere through photosynthesis.
