Luann is sure that they’re “just friends.” Gunther? Not so much.

If/when Bets shows up, the duet will be a trio, but probably with a lot less pleasant output than Dolly, Emmylou, and Linda.

Gunther saying he made their costumes sure is weird since his “costume” is a piece of cardboard with some lettering on it and Luann’s costume looks like something any girl would have in their closet. I was hoping to see more of the other costumes today, besides TJ’s, and not a defense of them not dating. What’s the point of a party if all the author does is hammer away with plot. Let’s enjoy some good costumes.

Then maybe Gunther should have come as Kenny Rogers!

I hope Luann and Gunther don’t start dating seriously. They’re much better together as good friends. I’d like to see them both get involved with other people again—with more stable partners than they had before.

Gunther made the costumes? Let’s go back to Tiffany and her question about padding. Just how did Gunther handle that big, delicate assignment?

Gunther? I don’t think you made Luann’s costume. What I see are regular clothes with bra stuffed with something to inflate her bra size and a wig. Yours? I am not sure what it is? A book on your chest and a leotard with stocking? If I’m correct, then you only made that book – more like a pair of poster boards with two straps to hold them. Your costumes look like you and Luann hurriedly threw them on at last minute. I know you can make better than those. Betcha Bets will be shocked when she sees your “costume.”

Honestly, aren’t they all a little old for this whole, “He/she’s not my boyfriend/girlfriend” routine? Oh, who am I kidding; even my best friend and I had to deal with this kind of thing as teenagers and young adults.

Waiting for Steph and Kip to emerge from the shadows. And again I ask, where is Bernice? Come to think of it, where are Les, Jack, Nil, Piro, and Tara? Inquiring minds want to know!

TJ, buddy, If there’s one thing about these two it’s that they’ll be content to be in romantic limbo for as long as possible. It’s been the status quo for their relationship at least since I was 7.

Anyways, It’d be cool if TJ had a storyline where he dates someone.

And I’m glad that Luann drove.

Actually Luann looks good with her hair like that and her face made up. She probably wouldn’t want to fuss around in front of a mirror for too long though. There is so much to do besides that.

So, yesterday‘s comic was a waste. Not sure why GNK had to show Tiffany being a biatch… today’s comic should’ve been yesterday‘s.

Luann had a chance to date Jack?

I’d like to see a few more costumes. Like Knute could come as Optimus Prime in a suit he welded himself. Crystal could be Betty Boop because she always had her hair in spikes kinda like Boop. Jack could be Stretch Armstrong while Nil would wear a shirt with paints of parts of a doll, a deconstructed doll. Tara could be Strawberry shortcake (?) as both have pinkish red hair. Others have suggested Leslie as a greasy vampire and that sounds about right. I can’t think of anything for Bernice. And didn’t try to think of anything for Stef and her male accessory. But I thought Shannon could come (trick-or-treating with Brad and Toni) as a Space Cowboy Princess, which would be a Princess dress with a toy gun belt and a plastic bubble helmet. She’s be the one to mix metaphors. Brad would be dressed as a fireman in case he’s called to work while Toni would be in a catsuit. There was a logical reason for her being in a cat suit with Brad in a dog costume. But I changed Brad’s costume. It’s hard to think of any better costume for Toni so I left it like that.

TJ looks really good dressed as Woody. I think he’s also trying to mimic the character’s pose in the second panel. I like the way Luann describes the two of them as a duet and not a couple. I wonder if this is a foreshadowing that they will ask Luann to sing a Dolly Parton song, she will do a duet with Gunther and in the most romantic moment of the song, Bets will appear and she will think that Gunther has forgotten his promise to wait for her (100%) and is with Luann now.

I don’t know who drew these panels, but Luann has NEVER had big lips. I don’t care how much lipstick you put on, it’s not going to change the basic shape of your lips. It doesn’t even look like her.

So who will Gunther choose? Bets: The one that wants him to do outfits for the online likes? And appreciates him for the outfits that gets her likes. Or Luann:the one that appreciates the outfits he makes and just enjoys that he enjoys making them? And just appreciates HIM.

Why does’t TJ ever have a date? Probably because he is constantly annoying.

Gunther made the costumes?? That’s ridiculous, especially for Luann’s outfit. SHE should have been able to put that together out of clothes she already had. I know I could. Nothing easier.

How would TJ know what a date is. When have we ever seen him dating?

Yeah, totally normal for two non-dating friends to hold hands while walking into a party. No idea why that might give someone the wrong impression.

Gunther already told TJ it is not a date. There is no need to respond to the comment in the second panel. Gunther should have changed the subject by commenting on TJ’s costume. Once I answer a question I do not keep answering the same question. I change the subject and ignore further badgering.

To all you commenters hoping with bated breath about Gunther and Luann, sorry, but nothing will ever come of it. Luann doesn’t like Gunther in that way. Never has, never will. So get over it already.

Called it. They were just together, still as friends. Won’t stop Bets from coming to that same conclusion and making a stink about it though. And before people get on her about that, remember she’s still traumatized from past boyfriends cheating on her and has an insecurity because of it. Not everyone can have thick skin about it.

Why can’t males and females just be friends? I have lots of male friends and yes, I’ve held hands with some of them. In other countries, men hold hands with their male friends, nothing romantic, been done forever, no big deal. Same as girls holding hands with their gal pals. No big deal.

And back at the dorm, Dez has been cultivating some sort of magical plant that has already taken over Bets’ half of the room……
