Precisely the problem with that fatuous bit of nonsense. There’s plenty of people who hate themselves and who are more than glad to inflict that on others.

By far the best book on this I have come across is Freezing Point by Ayako Miura, but the English translation sadly seems to be out of print.

There is that part about loving yourself as well.

Yeah, I’m with you, Rat. When I first saw that bible quote I thought about people who really do seem to not like themselves very much. Thus they should not like their neighbors very much? Okay… okay.

I can’t imagine Rat becoming a good guy at all. He’s too aggressively awful to be capable of doing anything slightly decent.

I guess that’s why the expression often stops at, “Love your neighbor.”

Do unto others. Karma will catch up.

Hate is too strong a word for me. I’ve replaced it with ‘find unpleasant’
