When Frank sees that Luann brought Jack over, he’ll have some beef too.

Jack, the Dog Whisperer scores! With Puddles. Luann missed her chance, again. Frank will be the third wheel. Better luck next time for Luann.

Scared, why? He’s in a home he’s been in for years and often alone while Frank and Luann are gone to work and school with just Nancy and knowing Nancy, she goes out and does things. Lonely, perhaps, but would be used to it. Destructive dogs are bored, high energy (which Puddles is not – he is a napper), in a group energy (in groups of 2 or more dogs – pretty similar to human mass hysteria behavior), which Paddles is not – he’s the only dog. So, Jack, the dog whisperer, ask Puddle which one was he experiencing?

Well! Here he is. Bailing Luann out of a mess again. Will he get more reward then just leeky beef?

Come to think of it, over their time together, she has treated him much the same as she’s treated Gunther.

Sounds like a keeper. We shall see what we shall see. . .

It appears that Puddles already provided the leeks.

I don’t foresee Puddles doing much cleaning. But maybe Jack is more persuasive than we thought.

Now, we have the test case: Is there chemistry between these two or not? Doubtful, but Luann will spend the next 5 years being 19 years old and have plenty of time to review a dwindling stable of prospects.

Mmmm, leeky beef! My favorite!

Where’s the beef that leeks? That is my contribution to the double-entende theme of the day. What a nice couple they make, friends, comfortable with each other, fit together somehow. That is what I project, so is this just a tease? Or leading into a slow, or maybe fast epiphany on Luann’s part? All kinds of hints, and more than a friend zone motive on her part here, possibly. Jack? To me it’s a no brainer (if I have half of one after all my years -:) what he would do if she made a move beyond friend zone. Except, with her he might be a mite shy in expressing his true feelings.

Wow, Panel 1 shows Jack with kindness and concern and love for animals written all over him! Who would have guessed that he’d evolve into this superior being, compared to the caveman he used to be when he made his debut?

Just admit every one wonder’s what Luann has planed on giving him for desert.

Flathead, future vet tech, let’s break it to Luann gently. Puddles has dementia! Get thee to a nursing kennel!

I would guess “E-Z” takes about 30 minutes prep time and 4 hours cooking time. Wonder what they’ll do in the meantime?

Dogs are pack animals and many that are left alone go slightly berserk. Not their fault.

I love Jack….but HATE the way he’s drawn. That HEAD!!!! Ugh. Maybe G&K will soften that image if he gets to be Luann’s boyfriend. Just like Brad morfed from a goof-ball-look to a fairly handsome guy.

Not a kiss? Leeks are a terrible reward.

Luann and Jack’s dynamic is getting better and better ♡. Jack is a really good guy, adorable and understanding ♡. They complement each other so well ♡♡. And Puddles love them both so much♡♡♡.

Jack comes across as a really nice and caring guy, despite the jock looks (which have been toned down a bit since the early days). Hope Luann promotes him from the friend zone sometime soon (which could be a year or two in RT – sigh). :)

That guy is a gem

If anyone thinks Luann and Beefcake are getting together – the writers will not entertain that sort of fan service. Luann will more than likely end up “happily” married with Gunther spending her days providing free therapy for all his insecurities.

…and thus, Lu and Jack start to cook…and I do not mean it in a purely culinary way.

Somehow I think the roles would have been better off reversed, with Luann doing the cleaning up and Jack doing the cooking.

Those two look pretty comfy with each other.

If there is to be a next step in this relationship, Luann must be the one to make it.

If Jack is REALLY resourceful, he’ll be staying the night, too!

Why does Jack have Frankenstein features? Square head square jaw… not attractive. I guess his nice personality makes up for it.

Today’s strip strongly supports my long-running speculation that Puddles’ breed is “California Football Dog.”

I see where this is going, but Luann does not deserve this guy.

Ok, enough about cats. Luann needs to understand what makes husband material and wake up. This dudes’ a keeper.

I realize Nancy used to stay at home, but I know she had to go out and shop, etc. too. Why now?

A lot of talk about euphemisms and double entendres. Here a two real examples from GnK:

Perhaps GnK are positioning Jack and (the soon to be available?) Gunther into rivals for Luann’s attention. Overtly between the two guys or at least in Luann’s mind. WOW! That would be a classic dicotomy. There are real physical and personality differences between the two types yet both of them are genuine “Nice Guys.”

GnK could milk that arc for decades!

I’m not sure that “don’t scold” is good advice – although since this is somewhat after the fact of the bad behavior, that might make a difference.

Unless Luann’s half-lidded looks mean something else entirely, he’s her new love interest.

I’ve decided you all have really dirty minds. And I, for one, kind of like Lu and Jack together. But maybe not if the beef leeks…dang…see what you did? Y’all are bad influences!

Oh man, Jack coming through AND educating Luann. If she doesn’t realize this potential love interest before it’s too late my little nerd heart is going to be disappointed.

I don’t recall if Frank has ever met Jack before… Maybe Luann should have gave Dad (Since mom will be at work) a heads up before having someone just popup for dinner?

I’m sure they have met before and Frank won’t mind. After all, Jack has been over for studying with Luann, so he’s not a stranger.

Luann, the guy you’ve been looking for is right in front of you.

Animals like routine. While an ‘at home Nancy’ might have gone out for trips to the grocery store etc. Her presence and routines during the day are what Puddles is accustomed to. Now there are day-long periods of alone time where no one is in the house and Puddles is not used to this. I think Jack will conclude that having the run of the whole house during this period (when everyone is gone) is not a good idea. Perhaps he should just stay in Luann’s room. There’s also the issue of making sure he gets walked before the last person leaves.

Is this a Magical Moment in Luann’s turbulent romantic development?

Don’t reprimand a dog for creating such a mess??? What are you aiming at? A bad, ill-tempered, out-of-control dog who trashes the house and bites visitors?

This is insane. Dogs understand rewards and punishment very well. If the outcome of trashing the house is reward in terms on petting, caressing and cooing, it will interpret it’s actions as reward deserving and will do such acts much more.
