I’m strongly in favor of making sure that he’s chosen by fewer College of Electors votes than 1/3 of all of them. It’s possible, I do believe, but only if we all put our money where our thoughts are (at least a little at a time).
If Trump is accepted and blessed by the general Christian faith, it is time to find a new religion. I hear Buddhists are nice. Or maybe Amish. That way I could remain Christian, and still have some self-respect.
If he gets a second term, it could very well be the end of all we hold dear as a beacon of freedom and hope! This next election is crucial! The orange buffoon needs to be given his walking papers…and then escorted into the judicial process to answer for a lifetime of egotistical scheming and cheating!
A. Trump is re-elected. We’re toast. B. Trump is defeated. What happens to the Republican Party? Almost all Republican politicians, especially the “leadership”, have totally compromised themselves by supporting or collaborating with Trump. What excuses will they offer? Who will be able to restore the Party to some legitimate role? The Democrats will also have a problem. What is the proper role for the President in a post-Trump world? There will be some temptation to use the precedent set by Trump, for instance to use Executive powers beyond what’s appropriate. We already see some of the candidates promise to use Executive powers, for instance, on gun control. I’m not a fan of a super-powerful Executive and I would like to see Congress get its powers back. There’s a good chance there will also be an economic downturn, perhaps before the election, and the Republicans (with some help from the Democrats) have largely squandered the tools to deal with it. And then there’s the climate.
By the way, to pick a nit, the New Testament never even once uses an expression like “second coming”. The term used is παρουσία (parousía), meaning something like “(important) presence, official visit”. Jesus himself is quoted as promising to “come” “riding on clouds”, not really saying when but the context suggests something immediate, and Paul (writing well before the Gospels were composed) promises that “those now living” would see it. When the Gospels were composed it had to have been perfectly clear that the promised παρουσία was absolutely not “immediate” or “imminent”, though no adjustment of the prophesy was introduced into the texts.
Of course, even MORE fun to watch is this… On the off chance that The Tangerine Palpatine “wins” in 2020, we need to make sure that BOTH the Senate AND the House go Democratic. Lard-butt would go INSANE within 6 months when NOTHING he says gets the SLIGHTEST BIT of attention in Congress, especially if the Democrats get a Veto-Proof majority.
I watched that…whatever it was…interview/conference/self-love fest on the way to the helipad. It was obvious that the words and the gesture were his usual bombast served up with a side hubris garni. The problem is 1. that it was probably triggered by the nitwit in Israel who slathered Trump with verbal molasses, which DJT is ALWAYS ready to lap up; and 2. that, in his what-passes-for-a-mind, it was probably too close to the truth for the rest of us to be comfortable with.
We need to find a remote native tribe somewhere that still believes in human sacrifice and send them the Nitwit-in-Chief as the Chosen One. The Doofus will be useful at least once in his life.

God is just providing us with a little hint of what hell would be like – having to deal with Trump on daily basis forever and forever and beyond…

Frankly I would like to see such a campaign. The Messiah and King of Israel and the Great One come to mind also.

No genuine Christian can respect #45. And those that do are strangely forgetful of the description of the Antichrist…

Why not both?

Well, it’s certainly appropriate to call him “chosen”, because he sure as heck lost the election.

He said “Cho Sen”, referring of course to the restaurants on Long Island. I hear he likes the buffet.

Trump has severe mental health issues. So do those that think he is a Christian or is pro-Christian for other than purely political reasons.
