Somebody said there are two things even the Vatican doesn’t know: How many orders of nuns there are, and how much money the church has.

I’m confused. The pulpit is labeled as “political evangelicals” but he’s espousing the teachings of “conservative Christians.” When is he going to start talking politics?

You know, I keep wondering when all this ridiculous stupidity in the government is going to stop then I realized that I should just stop wondering about it and just live. I take comfort just in knowing I didn’t vote for him.

So called “Christian” Evangelicals with their fawning support of Trump have forfeited any moral standing and certainly any moral authority they may once have presumed to have had. They have finally and fully revealed themselves for what they have always been. Simply Republicans who happen to go to church.

Don’t feed the hungry, take away their food stamps.

Don’t heal the sick, take away affordable health care.

Worship money and distribute all tax dollars to our rich friends.

Condemn the poor, and point out how god scorns them.

Let’s see…greed, pride, envy, gluttony, wrath…only missing sloth and lust — and we know ONE person who suffers from the latter.

Everyone knows that the Liar-an’-Thief is a fake Christian. So do the fundagelical Christianists. But the evilgelical fundis themselves are fake Christians, so Con Man Don isn’t actually fooling anyone. Their simpatico alliance with him is entirely reasonable and natural.

At this point, evangelicals and Dominionists are only superficially Christian. They’re CINOs: Christians In Name Only. Jesus is merely their seemingly friendly and good-looking front man. He supplies them with a veneer of respectability AND their much-needed “forgiveness.” Since the CINOs are “forgiven,” they can then safely ignore the rest. They have, in fact, otherwise pretty much taken the “Christ” out Christianity. Theirs is a religion which celebrates the kind of first-century, and earlier, barbarism, ignorance, slavery and patriarchal authoritarianism that appeals to the evilgelical way of “thinking.” With Christ removed, the writings of Paul and the Old Testament — Leviticus and Genesis are particular favorites — which are for the most part hateful and vengeful and not the least bit generous, accepting or forgiving, are at the core of their nasty religion. Good Samaritans they ain’t!

The teachings of the scriptures have changed many times to suit the political will.. but this time.. it is really going over the top.

It’s the gospel of pragmatism. Trump promised and has delivered on the most important of his promises. Conservative judges. That is the long game being played by evangelicals.

I suggest that they will tolerate a lot more than people expect for the chance at replacing Ginsburg or Breyer with another conservative.
