All the companies I’ve work with/for build equipment or instruments that must comply with stringent regulations from other countries that they export to. Maybe it’s a matter of perspective, but proving that they complied was seen as adding value to the product. None of the US companies they sell to have complained about the improved performance due to more rigid compliance.
Ah yes, the good ol’ days of rampant pollution and segregation. It’s like the Moron in Chief has a dart board of “What good thing can I take away today?”
This is nothing compared to the windfall the banks and Wall St have received via deregulation. The next big collapse won’t be mortgages but college loans. And we (tax payers) will again pay for the bailout as the consumer protections have been removed.
Just like “Donald J. Trump State Park”, you can always write the country off as a tax deduction…..
Donald Trump, for whom the park was named, purchased the property for $2 million in the 1990s, and donated it in 2006. Trump donated the land after he was unable to gain town approvals to develop a private golf course on the property. At the time of its donation, Trump claimed the parcel was worth $100 million. He used the donation as a tax write-off……… Wiki
And soon we can reap the benefits: poisoned food, water and air; rivers burning with toxic waste; rampant race and gender discrimination in the workplace; voter disenfranchisement in the South; and plenty of war to go with it.
It is now the new year. This past year was truly an annus horribilis if ever there was. I shan’t regret its passing. But I look forward to 2018 with only the slightest optimism. Much remains before us…

GUMMINT-REPUDIATING – {1.60 limericks}
Trump is de-regulating
so much that America’s skating
toward disaster
faster and faster.
He’s recapitulating
the Reaganesque binge
of the lunatic fringe
for gummint-repudiating.

A NEW YEAR NOT-SO-HAPPY – {a pair of limericks}
Nor will the New year be great,
since Trumpism’s stuff won’t abate.
It’ll continue gestation
of the yuuge mutation
to a yuuge Plutocratic estate.
………
Our evolution’s frustrated
by being on The Donald fixated. -
- We’re allowing Trump’s games
to accomplish Trump’s aims
to “WIN”. – - – We’ll be checkmated.

DOWN THE TUBES – {limerick}
We’re headed down-the-tubes,
flushed by Trump-base boobs
and by Plutocrats
for whom we’re door-mats,
a bunch of dim-witted rubes.

Let’s bring back 1960’s tax structure as well. 91% on income after the first million.

It would be nice to see the EPA operate within the limits imposed on it by the law that created it.

Republicans haven’t noticed any changes in the last 57 years.
Can they get any dumber? Obviously yes.

Rather than becoming a better person for being president,
Donald Trump is degrading the office and America as well.

Trump probably really wants to put regulations back to the pre-1760’s. When there weren’t any.
