I was afraid it would come to this. If this doesn’t rouse the Hero of Pep Cola Stadium, nothing will.

Sigh. I was hoping Walt could talk her away from the brink again. She knew there would be another arrest and trial waiting for her and more mayhem in Endtown with another innocent verdict, even though evidence would prove she didn’t kill that wolf who died in the laundry fire. She’d had enough.

Dadof3 brings up a good thought: will this spur Walt to take action?

Walt’s the real heart-breaker. Heather fell for him.

He talked her down once…but failed to this time. Why?

With her death the wolves have nothing to keep their riot momentum going. The aftermath of this is going to upend a lot of people’s world view. Also the pig slaughter is still ongoing.

Her pain will end. Her death may even help. Walt is whom I would be concerned about now……..does he take action?…….or fall back to the bottle?

Hopefully, she will land on a couple of wolves on the way down.

I wouldn’t put it past Aaron to have her survive but be left in permanent paralysis and agony.

“Endtown” is fast turning into dystopian horror “I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream”.

If all of this death is considered part of the “greater good” then I’m starting to think it ain’t so great….

Her mind has obviously been disturbed for a long time, ever since the attack in the March 31 strip. Add the burden of knowing that she killed the wolf, who is actually another human being, I think she just couldn’t stand to live with herself any longer.

She realized that this is all far beyond anything she can cope with. She wouldn’t have had to deal with any of this if Walt had let her jump the first time, and she was immediately betrayed and arrested and made the center of the current mayhem.

Why go through any more of that? Especially when she knows no one (except maybe Walt) cares about her at all except as a figurehead. Maybe her death will stop the rioting; maybe it will make things worse (as the wolves claim victory and the prey species realize their empowerment makes them even more dangerous). All she knows is, she won’t be hurting any more.

Given some of the prior storylines and how they resolved, we are not guaranteed a happy ending for anything at all in this strip. This could very well be the beginning of the end for Endtown.

Interesting point, MrSpiral. I have often wondered whether Aaron is trying to end Endtown.

I have it from Aaron Neathery that there are still years of the Endtown story yet to be told. It’s not about to be cut short.

The saddest part is that this really was her best option.

Even if she did move to another colony, PEOPLE TALK!!! It would have only been a matter of time before the other colonies heard about her trial and the dead wolves. And then she would have to keep defending herself from the accusations. it would always be held against her. She’d never have another moment’s peace.

Who knows how it’s going to affect everyone she left behind, but as far as she’s concerned… Her suffering is finally over.

Perhaps Heather just wanted the pain to stop and to be reunited with her lover (Portia’s brother) even if in death. I’m just wondering how Dolly is going to handle the death of Heather. She is partly responsible for the mayhem that has been happening in Endtown; since she started the new pro wolf newspaper The Daily Fang. I wonder if Walt is going to hold her responsible for what happened to Heather.

One day you’re running a nice, little dry-cleaners shop…next day you’re jumping off the side of an elevator.
