It makes the argument that, because things are supposedly going so wonderfully in America under Donald Trump, perhaps no one should care if it turns out that Trump is guilty of conspiring with Russia to rig the election.
You can attribute this disconnect to blind followership, “alternate facts,” or mind-boggling double talk from the administration. But there may be something else at work here: Many of Trump’s supporters wouldn’t care, even if they knew it was true.There’s only one reason for Trump’s allies at Fox to begin pushing the ‘it’s not a big deal if Trump is a traitor’ narrative, which is that proof is about to surface that Trump is in fact a traitor.
The reaction of “mikefive” and “johnsallysullivan” and other Trump apologists is direct substantiation of the adage “My mind is made up;don’t confuse me with facts!” They “know” that it’s a witch hunt uncovering “fake facts” and nothing will change their ‘minds’! Donnie’s “brag” that he could shoot someone on a New York City street and not lose any of his supporters was not an idle boast! It’s like trying to convince a ‘mentally-ill’ person that he is NOT Napoleon – it cannot be done! Until they come to the self-realization that Trump is incompetent and evil, all the sane among us can do is be patient with them and hope the mania passes.
Even if Donnie Dumpsterfire stays in office for the full 4 years, EVERY OTHER major World Leader is LAUGHING AT HIM, and he will NEVER be taken seriously by ANY of them. He IS a joke, and he ALWAYS WILL BE a joke.
@mikefive…I doubt that much of the investigation is wasted. They will be methodical and relentless, thank goodness. This is time and money very, very well spent. So much lying has gone on that you’d think it would be difficult. But there are records, and people will talk. This is beyond partisan politics. Or will be at some point for the overwhelming majority of Americans. I certainly hope we see truth, justice, and the American way at its most aspirational.

So much lying has gone on that you’d think it would be difficult. But there are records, and people will talk. This is beyond partisan politics. Or will be at some point for the overwhelming majority of Americans. I certainly hope we see truth, justice, and the American way at its most aspirational.
