    The church has been ruling politics for centuries. Unfortunately, it’s no different now with the far right.

    THE COURT’S MUTATION – {1.20 limericks}

    The Supremes re-invigorate

    the many-dimensioned debate

    over issues of church-and-state …

    … Is the Court mutating,

    its principles negating?

    Will precedents they strangulate?

    Hey conservatives…you want to live somewhere without separation of church and state? GO BACK TO EUROPE!!! Just think, your kids can go to a public school where religion will be taught! Doesn’t that just sound great?! (And they say liberals are un-American)

    GORSUCH THE RIGHTIST – {limerick and footnote}

    How conservative is Gorsuch?

    So far it seems that he’s more such

    than even Scalia; -

    - Will now we see a

    Court which Libs will deplore much*?

    … Footnote: – * a Court dominated by Roberts, Alito, Thomas and Gorsuch

    It amazes me that people do not realize that this country was NOT founded on “Christian principles,” (sorry, @Bruce4671) and indeed was actively opposed to what the Founders saw as domination by churches. The “wall of separation between church and state” is essential to the protection of freedom of religion, as it favors no religion over any other. Jefferson coined the term, and Adams said we are not a Christian nation explicitly in the Tripoli treaty we signed with the primarily Muslim nation.

    Oh, and there’s no such thing as “Judeo-Christian,” either. That was a phrase coined by conservative Christians who wanted to claim Jews, but who thought they would eventually turn to Christ anyway. Jews don’t consider most forms of Christianity even similar to Judaism, which is of course correct.

    How wide should the church door be? How wide is an armored bank trunk?

    Remember, according to the G.O.P., OUR Religious based Theocratic Government is FINE! It’s just THEIR Religious based Theocratic government that’s bad!

    Old: “Greed is good.” New: “The Gospel of Greed is good.” (Both are evil, of course.)

    Trump is giving money to churches and recruiting for ISIS. Is it great yet? And to think, the Republicans had to hold a vote for a year, then change the rules just to give your tax money to someone else’s religion.

    For those who believe in prayer can heal then do so. Leave the rest for us more practical people.

    This is so stupid – read the case, it is about money for items that will be used for the public like they give to other not for profits.
