He must’ve been chastised on Earth (by corporations) for actually telling the truth.

“Unfortunately, THIS is as close to Heaven as you are EVER gonna get. We DO have a reputation to maintain, and it wouldn’t BE heaven if we let any Lawyers in, so…DOWN YOU GO!!”

Maybe he compensated for enron et al by becoming a whistle blower. Too few total points for actual entry but enough to get to the gate.

I do have a sense of humor. I do get the joke. Nonetheless, I feel obliged to note that corporate lawyers, like all lawyers everywhere, have a professional and ethical responsibility to represent the best interests of their clients to the best of their abilities — within the bounds of honesty, of course. And the good ones are very, very good at doing so.

It’s interesting that we have this pop culture image of all the souls showing up at Heaven’s gate, even the ones that are definitely going to Hell. Is it a little extra torture for them to show them what they’ll be missing? Kind of like that idea of the blessed in Heaven being allowed to see the suffering of the damned in Hell.

Not strictly relevant but I’m feeling irrelevant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ETCM90yHiY

And in hell he will spend eternity losing cases to environmentalists, labor interests, and federal prosecutors of financial crimes. (Well, we can dream, anyway.)

If only more corporations needed criminal lawyers – much of what big corporations do is unethical if not illegal.

Seems that “Hell” would be a LOT MORE FUN then “Heaven” if “Heaven” is full of self-important Buy-Bull Banging “Christians”! Good thing neither one is real…

I will most likely get banned from commenting, but I happen to like and admire lawyers. There are bad apples in every commercial profession, and, no. I’m not a lawyer, nor do I personally know one, and yes, I have used them in the past.
