Nails it! And I’d love to nail turtle-boy… That whole ЯepubliKlan☠ crew has fixed the swamp in D. C. alright. They’ve turned it into an ocean of sewage and corruption.
The senate has been wrecked for some time. Once Sen Reid when nuclear there was no justification for carving out a SCOTUS exemption, except to save it for maximum use later. Then, losing his majority, he lost his chance.
And Mitch the Great, a tear in his eye, stands at the shore and looks out across the sea: No more government to wreck. It was such fun while it lasted.
Tooter the Turtle is still waiting for Mr. Wizard to bring him back to reality. Unfortunately, “Be what you is, not what you isn’t” doesn’t apply to Mitch. No SOUP FOR YOU! (Sorry about the mixed references!)
Not one Republican senator objected when McConnell refused to grant Obama’s nominee a hearing, even though it was nearly a year until the election. More, not one Republican wanted that aforementioned hearing. Does this mean that quite literally every Republican in the Senate is dishonest? Yes. Does this mean that quite literally every Republican in the Senate is a COWARD? Yes.
Why am I not surprised? No reason for the Repugs to re-write their playbook; the suckers, er, I mean voters, continue to buy it. Only after they have collapsed the world economy & become the minority party again by making the federal government disappear will the Repugs see the value of compromise, civility, and circuit-breakers like the filibuster.
To once again misquote an often misquoted quote, “Republicans campaign on the idea that government doesn’t work, then proceed to prove it once elected!”

Republican voters believe he will make things better for them.
Especially the coal miners.
.
They believe Gorsuch will side with them whenever there’s a dispute between the coal miners and the coal mine owners.
.
They also believe the Keystone Pipeline will be made with American Steel.
.
I wonder if they ever think about how many non-Americans are employed at Mar-a-Lago.

THE SENATOR FROM KENTUCKET – {1.20 limericks}
There once was a man from Kentucket
who led the Senate to muck it
to help the rich
get richer under Mitch.
He carried their greed in his bucket.
Senate Decorum? – He’d shuck it.

THE SCALE OF JUSTICE – {a limerick and an image}
Nominee Gorsuch dissembles,
pretending that he resembles
an honorable judge
who doesn’t fudge.
The Scale of Justice trembles.

To be fair the Bush appointees were confirmed by Democrats as well. Blaming turtle man for wrecking everything is a lie unto itself.

LONG LONG NIGHT – {a rhyme}
Much trouble’s in store
for our governance system.
Things to deplore;
too many to list ‘em,
and where would we start? -
- How CAN we take heart?
Change X but we’ve still got Y;
not much improvement thereby.
No net improvement in sight;
we’re in for a long long night.
