Ah, but the issue is that the Democrats accuse the Republicans of it, the Republicans accuse the Democrats of it and we the people get lost in the shuffle.

Considering the ever growing audience for ‘reality’ shows, this strip is not all that out of synch with actual levels of public intelligence.

@douglas haire. It’s not most folks, it’s trump voters—MOST folks didn’t vote for him. Trump voters may or may not be stupid—but they are ALL willfully ignorant. Not stupid—deluded. Not stupid—culpable. Not necessarily racist—just voted for one. Not necessarily misogynists—just voted for one. Not mentally ill—just voted for someone who is. Not necessarily liars—just voted for one. Not necessarily anti-Christian-values—just voted for one that is. Not anti-American—just voted for one who is. Not anti-constitutional—just voted for one who is. Not authoritarian—just voted for one who is. On and on.

You trump voters are responsible now. The wars—yours. Strained relations with the rest of the civilized world—yours. The dysfunctional Congress—yours. The racial tension—yours. Boosting China’s influence in the world by diminishing America’s influence—yours. Celebrating Russian interference in our elections—your treason, not mine. Sessions’ perjury—your perjury. Bannon’s white nationalism—you’re at fault. The Indian engineers who were recently shot—the murder lies at your feet. Birther racism?—welcome to donny’s world, he’s YOUR racist. Pizza shops as Clinton pedophile dens—your delusions, not mine. Dirty water in coal country—your dirty water. Dirty American money in the global energy market—your love of bribery and corruption. Yup, you trump voters brought us poor pathetic little trumpy, and now you whine that people think you’re stupid. imagine that.

Indeed, who but the willfully ignorant thought health care finance was NOT complex? Who imagined the press is the enemy of the people? Alternate facts are NOT facts. Climate change is NOT a Chinese plot. There’s lots of evidence for the stupidity of the trump voter. But I think they are willfully ignorant, angry, fearful, easily led, and emotionally stunted.

You trump voters are at fault for electing a sociopathic narcissist with ADHD. Now put your big boy pants on and accept what you have wrought. All of it.

There is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment.

to me, one of the most upsetting things about the whole situation is that Trump supporters are so sure they are right, no matter what their hero says or does, because they read/listen to only far right, and sometimes extremely so (as in Rush L.) sources for their information. They are so sure that all the “mainstream media” are liberal liars. It’s impossible to talk with them, because every man’s way is right in his own eyes (Proverbs), including mine, and there is no common ground.

I agree with Wiley that ALL parties, not just “both” parties, let’s not forget the Libertarians and others that DO exist as marginal “fringe”, have indeed lost objectivity in what became a mass market sales pitch a long time ago, but in “making up my own mind”, it depends on what provable facts are in the information to DO that “independent thinking”. Hard science demands that, political “science” is indeed by it’s very nature today, in no way science, but propaganda independent of any factual base.

Occam’s razor: the simplest explanation that adequately explains a situation is most likely to be true.

    .

Murphy’s Blunt Instrument: the most complex and conspiracy-ridden explanation that tangentially relates to a situation is most likely to be believed.
