Pig: Can I help you?
Man: Yes. I'm Noah. I've returned to gather everyone worthy of redemption onto my ark and save them from the rising seas.
Pig: Who do you have so far?
Noah: My dog skippy.
Pig: Hard times ahead.
Noah going through each promising-looking neighborhood, asking around…“You know, sometime within the next 1,000 years or so, we are going to, probably, have another Flood! I mean, the way Sea Level has been rising, lately. So. Want to come on board my Arc?”Or, words to that general effect…So. Do you want to get on board? Well, as for me, personally: I think I’ll pass.
True; why doesn’t NOAA stick with the same data sets forever? It’s not like we can ever learn anything more, or that scientific knowledge isn’t frozen in time. After all, one guy in the ’70s said we might be headed for an ice age. He must have been right. Right?
Technically this is an ice age right now (see “Quaternary glaciation”), and has been for the past 2.5 million years. Currently we’re in an interglacial period which should last for another 50,000 to 200,000 years by the looks of things, unless we change the environment too much…which we may have already done.
