I see where you’re getting at, but they both follow standard rules of their respective language. The pronunciation is very different too. If you pronounce them correctly, it shouldn’t pose a problem (you can even hear the French a and English e).
Really? I find other languages help me with English spelling. Words like etiquette are easy if you know French; apostrophes like in it’s or Jones’s are self-evident if you know Dutch, etc.
