More men with dry hair tend to be more likely to endup bald than men with greasy hair.

I recently read a ‘post apocalyptic’ novel where the heroine – who hasn’t enough to eat, and wears the same clothes for weeks – spent 20 mins in shower, rinsing out the conditioner. We live in a strange world. Well, ‘young people’ do, anyway.

The hair on top looks a little lonely. Like mine.

Neither my paternal grandfather nor any of his three sons ever went bald. My father-in-law didn’t go bald, but hubby has a badly receding hairline.

My grandfather had a beautiful full head of white hair. He washed his hair every day in Ivory soap and kept it meticulously barbered and groomed.I was fortunate to inherit his good hair gene and his vanity. I keep my hair well groomed – washing it every day ( but with a shampoo & conditioner – not Ivory soap ). I was always particular about how my hair was cut and thought nothing of paying $30 or more to have it styled and properly cut. Now that I’m retired, my wife cuts my hair in whatever manner suites her – and does a very good job of it !

Bar soap does not cause baldness.. else why do my eyebrows which get washed much more frequently with bar soap.. grow faster as I age.

Presuming that it is true that male baldness comes from the maternal side, your chance of baldness would be 50% based on the maternal grandfather, 25% on your mother’s mother’s father, 12.5% on the mother’s mother’s mother’s father, and so on. It is not determined by a single person.

This is a men’s comment, so ladies please don’t read.To all the men who are loosing their hair, rub the bald part of your head with toilette paper, I have used it for years, and you should see how much hair I’ve gown down there.

Dee TheoWhile technically not caves, pit houses (half dug into the ground and half wattle and daub above ground because trees aren’t tall enough for log cabins), and cliff shelters with masonry or adobe (both observable at Mesa Verde) inhabitants used a soap made from yucca root.

I don’t believe it is maternal either….I’m 57 with a full head of hair and my little brother who is 5 years younger than me went bald in his early 20’s. The only other person in our family that was bald was my grandfather on my mothers side. My father is 79 and still has a full head of hair although it’s finally beginning to recede just a bit

If it’s good enough for my living skin, it’s good enough for my non living hair (what there is of it)..I used to use Go-Jo, good stuff.
