The phrase “trading blows” comes to mind. I’m going for “fight called on account of fire” as the most probable ending.

…and suddenly, the lizard dangles a shiny piece of string, and the cat’s gone for good.

Take off gloves, use claws.

Two stalwart pugilists, going toe to toe, inside the squared circle…. Oy! Why was I channeling Howard Cosel?Things are progressing figh twise, but will there be a denoument, before somebody yells fire?Or will the light suddenly go out as a certain Raccoon-man takes his revenge?

Good thing for Wally these things don’t seem to be scaled..

The fun times and laughter are over for the crowd. This is now a literal, knock down and drag out fight.They are seeing a bully versus a man with nothing to lose beating each other bloody.

So it begins in earnest.

I had grave misspelling on earlier post, so I deleted it.I admire Phil for being manly and not being a quitter, though he does have some serious NONadmirable traits. Though I hope that if he learns that nonlizards are people too, he would grow out from his worst traits.

See if he is cold blooded.Hit him with a CO2 fire extinguisher.

Now I know some of those lizards are wishing they had placed their money on the cat.…And, even when they do receive word about the nursery and the fire, they’ll still want to stay and see how the fight ends.

While the crowd howls to the thrills of the gladiator’s fight.Their city burns……..

I foresee the fire/Jim crisis causing Wally and Phil to stop fighting and team up to save as many as possible as soon as Holly and crew appear. The reunion should be spectacular.

Of course Wally’s good at this. Cats love a good box.

I think that Phil lost a canine tooth in vignette four.

Given the fact that “Endtown” takes place after WWIII, I’d go with “We Will All Go Together When We Go”.

I’m thinking of an “Endtown” themed stanza to “National Brotherhood Week”.

I’m betting that if Wally wins this, the crowd is gonna go over the edge with the whole blood-thirsty mob spiel and try to tear him apart, and that it’ll take either Jim’s appearance, them noticing the fire, or a combination of the two to get them distracted from that.

Also they all look like molars.

I’ve noticed that while Holly has a pair of rodent incisors, she also has a full set of human teeth. It just reinforces the notion that mutants are really humans who are modified to look like cartoon animals.

I was thinking the same Dungeonmaster. It wouldn’t surprise me that a couple of lizards would be marching across the arena right at this moment to pull Wally off just in case he was beginning to win the fight. I mean he has Phil on the floor.

heh. Reminds me of the fistfight from Porco Rosso: stagger towards eachother, punch … both fall down, one from the punch the other from the effort of throwing it … clamber painfully back to their feet, stagger towards eachother again …
