Just once I’d like to see the guys congratulating Stephan on his puns, rather than threatening him. But I suppose being a cartoonist is an Odd Job.

As soon as pig mentioned “sat us faction” I knew this was leading up to the Stones song title.

The best part of these strips is seeing what Rat (and any of the others) will threaten to do to Pastis… well, that, and the fact that Stephan actually knows just how bad his puns are!

I don’t think I’ve ever been “sat”, while several servers have seated me.

At the restaurant next door, I got there early and I knew a lot of Irene Cara trivia, so my Fame preseated me.

From the setup, I was expecting a pun involving Octopussy or Pussy Galore, and wondering how he got it past the censors. Hey, they’re MPAA approved movie titles, it’s okay to say them.

You guys notice Stephan doesn’t use Zebra or the Crocs too much anymore? What gives?

I love the sense of anticipation in reading Pearls when you know one of these plays on words is coming up!

And it’s only going to get worse.

Today’s pun was a good one! :) This genre used to be called the Shaggy Dog story. (Does everyone know the one about the knight riding a dog on a rainy evening?)

Curious – in my local paper they published a strip dated 3/22 in which Rat explains how telephone with cords worked to some teenagers. “How do you drive around with them” they asked?

i like the puns. he’s welcome to dinner at our house. this is the kind of joke my dad loves. although i suspect, pastis may get satisfaction but he has trouble getting laid.

Add me as one who loves the puns! I actually laughed out loud at this one.

I can’t get no satisfaction from Cartoon Boy when he blends Bond, the Rolling Stones, and puns! But he does get a beat-down from the whole cast of the ‘toon, Pig, Goat, and Rat. So it is sort of Bond-ian and satisfying in that respect.[The link is to a 1969 Age of Love concert, with a cameo by Janis Joplin. Now, that’s Satisfaction!]

@jmarkoff2 i agree. What i like about these pun strips is that they sometimes use quotes im not aware of, so i kill more time googling them.
